Allen was perfect in relief Monday in Game 6, turning aside all seven shots in a 3-2 loss to Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
After starter Brian Elliott was roasted for three goals on a paltry seven shots in the first period, Allen was summoned to take over by head coach Ken Hitchcock. It's hard to believe he only faced seven shots in 41:24 of game action, but that just speaks to how hard the Blues clamped down after a disastrous opening frame. This was Allen's first appearance in the 2016 playoffs since Brian Elliott has been mostly spectacular thus far in knocking off the Blackhawks and beating Dallas three times. That said, Hitchcock stated that he'll "sleep on it" when it comes to appointing a netminder for Game 7, so stay tuned for further details in advance of Wednesday night's deciding game back in Texas.
