EDGE Analysis

Out since Jan. 8, Allen's return will bolster the Blues' netminding crew, while finally giving the team a chance to rest Brian Elliott (started every game in Allen's absence). Given that Elliott currently rides a five-game winning streak and allowed just three total goals between the Kings, Stars and Lightning (three top-tier offenses), Allen will likely return to a backup role. However, he should see more time in net than the netminders who replaced him. The club sent goalie Jordan Binnington back to the AHL in a corresponding move Sunday.
