Allen allowed four goals on 25 shots in a 6-3 loss to the Sharks in Game 5 on Monday. The other two were empty-netters.
EDGE Analysis
Making his second start of the postseason, Allen actually held a 3-2 lead past the midway point of the second period before Joe Pavelski struck twice in a span of 1:43. The Blues now have their backs against the wall down 3-2 in the series -- which shifts back to California for Game 6 -- so one would have to surmise that there's a good chance head coach Ken Hitchcock will go with Brian Elliott after Allen allowed seven goals in his two starts. Either way, look for that confirmation to come sometime before Wednesday's puck drop.
