Alexander Steen was forced to leave Thursday's contest against the Rangers because of a lower-body injury. Steen appeared to jam his foot into the crease of the boards in the corner and he was slow to stand up. He tried to skate it off, but left the game for good late in the second period. "He's day-to-day, lower-body (injury)," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We'll see where he is in a day or so. He'll be back." He scored his 26th goal of the season in the first period and was playing in just his fourth game back after returning from a concussion.
