Alexander Steen and Kris Russell were given Wednesday off for rest days. "Both Steen and Russell skate full-time tomorrow," coach Ken Hitchcock said after practice. "We decided to give them an extra day off." Andy McDonald also got part of the session off before leaving to rest. Steen has four assists in six games this season, while McDonald has two goals and three helpers over that span. Russell doesn't have a point yet.
