Alex Galchenyuk is not going anywhere, according to Montreal coach Michel Therrien.
Buffalo has returned Mikhail Grigorenko to the junior ranks and New Jersey has done the same with Stefan Matteau, but the Canadiens don't plan to follow suit with Galchenyuk despite his offensive slump. The 19-year-old has only one assist in his last 10 games and he's playing on the third line, but Therrien likes what the rookie forward brings to the table. "He's playing a mature game," said Montreal's bench boss. "Sometimes he'll miss a few things, but we'll sit down with him and show him. He's part of every power-play meeting and every penalty-kill meeting. We know he's going to be there and he's going to be ready." Galchenyuk is still adjusting to the NHL game, but he has been decent at both ends of the ice while posting 13 points and a plus-8 rating in 28 games.
