Monahan (hip) is expected to participate in training camp following offseason surgery but may be limited in preseason contests, Hailey Salvian of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Even if Monahan doesn't play much during the preseason, all signs point to him being ready to go for Opening Night against the Oilers on Oct. 16. Due to the limited 2020-21 season, Monahan posted the lowest point total of his NHL career (28) but should be capable of rebounding this year. Whether he can get back to being a 30-goal scorer, something he's done three times in his career, remains to be seen but he'll be a top-end fantasy target nonetheless.
