After missing the previous practice, McGinn returned to the ice Wednesday, reports NHL.com's Joe Yerdon.

McGinn took a maintenance day Tuesday after recording an assist, three shots on goal and four hits Sunday against the Islanders. The Sabres play Thursday against Tampa Bay and McGinn is expected to play. Given head coach Dan Bylsma's propensity to mix up the lines, McGinn could play anywhere, but in all likelihood it'll be in a bottom-six role.
