Newhook scored a goal on four shots to go along with one hit and one blocked shot in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Nicolas Aube-Kubel prevented Chicago from clearing the zone and got the puck to Newhook along the side boards. The rookie forward moved in and kept heading toward the net, as no Blackhawk confronted him, and he lifted a backhander over Marc-Andre Fleury's left shoulder. The goal was Newhook's first in six games, giving him seven markers in 20 contests overall. It looks like he's here to stay in the NHL after an early-season demotion to AHL Colorado.
