Appleton (upper body) was activated off injured reserve Friday, Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet reports.

Appleton was injured two weeks ago but has been practicing in a regular jersey with the Jets the last two days. He will start the season on the third line with Adam Lowry and Morgan Barron. Appleton had eight goals and 13 assists last season, split between the Kraken and the Jets.
