Mikheyev is skating on the third line in training camp, reports The Athletic.
EDGE Analysis
This assignment, alongside Alex Kerfoot and Zach Hyman, would be a powerful checking trio, but not exactly a scoring machine. Mikheyev will likely see time on the second line at times this year, too, so stash him at draft on that hunch.

Mikheyev signed a two-year, $3.29 million contract extension with the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Mikheyev acquitted himself well as a rookie in 2019-20, recording 23 points in 39 games. The 26-year-old has spent the bulk of his professional career in the KHL in his native Russia, where he racked up 122 points in 224 games over four seasons prior to making the jump to the NHL. Mikheyev should reprise his role in Toronto's middle six once the puck drops next season.

Mikheyev (wrist) was skating on the second line with John Tavares at Monday's camp session, Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to getting hurt, Mikheyev racked up eight goals, 15 helpers and 98 shots in 39 appearances this year. Despite being a rookie, the Russian winger seems to have quickly meshed with Tavares, which would make him a top-end fantasy option in both postseason pools and DFS contests during the playoffs.

Mikheyev (wrist) returned to practice Monday, Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mikheyev's return still shouldn't be viewed as imminent, but he's clearly making progress in his recovery and could be ready to rejoin the lineup before postseason play gets underway. The 25-year-old Russian notched 23 points in 39 games before undergoing wrist surgery in late December.

Mikheyev (wrist) is expected to return to practice at some point during the Maple Leafs' upcoming three-game road trip, Mark Masters of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mikheyev has been sidelined for two months since he suffered the severe laceration that damaged tendons in his wrist. This is just the first step in a long recovery for the Russian winger -- he's questionable at best to make a return to game action during the regular season.

Mikheyev (wrist) will "miss more than three months" after undergoing successful surgery to repair an artery and tendons in his wrist.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old rookie suffered a severe laceration from a skate in Friday's game against the Devils. Mikheyev's agent released the information Saturday morning and indicated a "more accurate timeline for his return will be provided in 90 days." Tendons take time to heal and then strength needs to be rebuilt, so count Mikheyev out for the season. Poor kid -- he was skating with the big guns on a scoring line and looking like a perfect fit. But thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery. This could have been career altering. He'll head to IR for the time being.

Mikheyev was cut on his wrist in Friday's game against the Devils, Kristen Shilton of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mikheyev suffered the scary injury when Jesper Bratt's skate blade caught him in the third period. It's unclear how severe Mikheyev's injury is. The Maple Leafs play again Saturday against the Rangers, but given the nature of the injury -- which was described as a significant laceration per the Maple Leafs -- the 25-year-old Russian is likely questionable at best to participate in that contest.

Mikheyev scored a goal and added an assist Friday in a 6-3 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
He's now on a three-game goal streak (four points) after going pointless in his previous six. Mikheyev remains on pace to flirt with the 50-point mark this season and that's impressive for a lower-profile rookie. Keep trotting him out there. Mikheyev can help.

Mikheyev picked up two assists in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old NHL rookie helped set up the Leafs' first and third goals of the evening. It's Mikheyev's second two-assist night in the last three games under new coach Sheldon Keefe, as his elevation to the second line alongside John Tavares has paid immediate dividends. On the year, Mikheyev has four goals and 16 points in 26 games.

Mikheyev posted two assists, four shots on goal and led all Maple Leafs forwards with 18:32 of ice time in a 3-1 win over the Coyotes on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Mikheyev was strong in this contest, setting up Tyson Barrie in the first period and Auston Matthews in the third. The Russian has three assists in his last two games, perhaps heating up after a seven-game point drought through much of November. For the year, the 25-year-old has 14 points and 58 shots in 24 outings.
