Zetterberg recorded two assists, two shots and a plus-2 rating during Sunday's 4-1 win over Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran now has a goal, nine assists and 17 shots while logging 20:39 of ice time (3:10 on the power play) through his past eight games. While he'll likely need a prolonged offensive surge to match last season's 68 points, he's currently providing serviceable numbers in most settings. Additionally, Zetterberg's go-to offensive role and recent form are both encouraging for his value moving forward.

Zetterberg potted an even-strength goal in Friday's 3-2 shootout win over the Rangers at home.
EDGE Analysis
The captain had no such luck on his shootout attempt, but at least he converted where it matters most for his fantasy shareholders. Zetterberg has kicked it up a notch in December, adding two goals and eight helpers through 11 games. Depending on your league size, the proven commodity may even be a free agent, so check the wire to see if he's available if you need help at the center spot.

Zetterberg registered three assists and a plus-2 rating through 23:21 of ice time during Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Zetterberg now sports a four-game point streak with a goal and six assists. He continues to hold off Father Time and is now up to a respectable 23 points through 33 games. It'll probably be difficult to approach last season's 17 goals and 51 assists, but the Detroit captain is still a serviceable asset in plenty of fantasy settings.

Zetterberg managed two assists -- including a power-play helper -- in Friday night's 3-1 home win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit's captain extended his point streak to three games, heavily rewarding those who stayed patient with him during a campaign that's been riddled by inconsistency so far. Zetterberg skated to a minus-3 rating in two of the last three heading into Friday's action, which suggests that he's not getting nearly enough defensive support from his teammates. Nonetheless, this was a huge win for the Winged Wheel, and Big Z look to carry the team on his back for what promises to be a grueling four-game road trip that begins Tuesday evening against the Islanders.

Zetterberg was the lone goal-scorer for the Red Wings in Monday's 2-1 overtime home loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Zetterberg hadn't scored in 22 straight contests before lighting the lamp at even strength Monday. The captain's only picked up five goals on 68 shots this season, and he's on pace for his lowest shots-on-goal output since the 2013-14 campaign, when he was limited to 45 games. A consummate professional who wears the leadership hat as well as anyone, Zetterberg needs to get more shots to fall and drastically increase his assist total -- he's only at 12 so far -- to regain the trust of his fantasy owners.

Zetterberg voiced his frustration following Saturday's 10-1 road loss to the Canadiens, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports. "We basically embarrassed everyone that played with the winged wheel tonight, and we've got to live with that," said the captain.
EDGE Analysis
Of course the captain is going to speak out after the team's worst single-game outcome in 31 years, but it'll take more than words to help the Red Wings snap out of this funk comprised of seven straight losses. Big Z has four goals, 11 assists and a minus-6 rating through 27 games, but he hasn't lit the lamp in 20 consecutive trips to the rink. It's clear that Zetterberg really misses Pavel Datsyuk, who's one of the best two-way players the game has ever seen, but the "Magic Man" bolted for the KHL ahead of last season.

Zetterberg has recorded just two assists with a minus-5 rating over his last 10 games.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Wings need the captain to elevate his offensive game; they've gone 4-5-1 during his cold stretch and three of the next five opponents currently have winning records. Big Z is also hurting fantasy owners seeking heavy power-play totals, as just two of his 11 points through 18 games have been recorded with the man advantage and his average ice time (2:18) in that special teams situation has trimmed every year since 2012-13.

Zetterberg wants to play out the rest of his career as a Red Wing, The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Naturally, Big Z is the man reporters want to speak with to figure out exactly why the Red Wings have endured a six-game losing slump. After all, he is Detroit's captain, but the venerable pivot is one to accept responsibility for the team's struggles and not make any excuses for the slide. As for his future with the team, Zetterberg -- who's playing in his 15th season -- seems quite certain that he wants to be a lifelong member of Detroit's hockey club. "Red Wings is the last team I'm going to play [with]. Unless they force me out," he said. "I'm not going to ask for a trade or get moved or anything like that. I'm going to, as long as I can, be a Red Wing."

Zetterberg has posted a pair of assists to counter a minus-5 rating over his team's active four-game losing streak.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit's captain hasn't looked like himself defensively of late, but he's still getting plenty of rubber on net -- 12 shots over this cold funk, offering a bit of a consolation prize for his fantasy owners. The eventual return of Andreas Athanasiou, who recently ended his contract holdout, should alleviate pressure on the team as a whole, but it's Big Z's job to consistently lead by example.

Zetterberg posted a goal and four points in a 6-3 victory against the Golden Knights on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran picked up the primary assist on both the game-tying and winning goals in the third period after posting a goal and an assist in the first 40 minutes. Zetterberg may not have the speed he once had, but the 37-year-old can still set up teammates as good as anybody. Last season, he had 51 assists, which was his most since 2010-11. He has four assists through the first five games this season. And despite just playing in his 1,000th game, owners don't need to worry about injuries catching up to his veteran body. Zetterberg has played 82 games each of the last two seasons.
