Lapierre was recalled from AHL Hershey on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Capitals appear to be stockpiling reserves ahead of the upcoming holiday roster freeze with Sonny Milano (upper body), T.J. Oshie (lower body) and Max Pacioretty (achilles) currently on the mend. The 21-year-old has one goal and three points in 11 games with the Capitals this season.

Lapierre was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With T.J. Oshie returning from IR, Lapierre will subsequently return to the AHL. The 21-year-old forward has played 11 games with the Capitals this year, tallying a goal and two assists (all coming in one game against Columbus on Nov. 18). Lapierre should be on the shortlist of callups should Washington need reinforcements later this season.

EDGE Analysis
Lapierre scored the game-winning goal on a backhand on the rush to give the Capitals a 4-2 lead. He also picked up helpers on goals by Aliaksei Protas and Sonny Milano. This performance marks Lapierre's first points of the 2023-24 campaign and first multi-point game of his career. He should continue to play on the third line and second power-play unit.

Lapierre was assigned to QMJHL Acadie-Bathurst on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Lapierre got an extended look with the Capitals primarily as a result of Nicklas Backstrom (hip) being on the injured list. The 19-year-old posted a goal and seven shots in six games while averaging 9:35 of ice time. Lapierre is likely to be a cornerstone of the franchise moving forward but will get the ice time he needs to continue his development in the junior ranks for the balance of the 2021-22 campaign -- with an eye on returning to the NHL as soon as next year.

EDGE Analysis
Lapierre trailed a T.J. Oshie rush and slipped a shot through New York netminder Alexander Georgiev to give the Capitals a 3-0 lead in the second period. It was the first career goal for the 19-year-old Lapierre, who was making his NHL debut. Drafted 22nd overall by Washington in 2020, Lapierre centered the third line between Oshie and Conor Sheary.

Lapierre was released from training camp and loaned to QMJHL Chicoutimi on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Lapierre will hope to pick up where he left off when the CHL suspended operations due to the pandemic, posting three goals and eight points in his first five games. The 18-year-old has a bright future if he can get his development back on track after dealing with neck issues in the last year, and should be squarely on the radar for those managers in dynasty formats.
