Evgeny Grachev scored his third goal of the pre-season on Friday. Grachev potted a couple of goals on Tuesday night against the Lightning and now has three goals in four games. He was with the Rangers organization but grew unhappy there as he felt they were not treating him well. He gets his chance this season in St. Louis and has a good shot at making the final roster.

Evgeny Grachev scored two goals for the Blues in a 3-1 preseason victory over Tampa Bay Tuesday night. Once a highly-touted prospect of the Rangers, Grachev took a big step backwards last season and is hoping for a fresh start with the Blues. Matt D'Agostini scored the other St. Louis goal while Steve Downie registered the only Lightning marker of the game. Jaroslav Janus and Mathieu Garon split time in the Tampa crease while Brian Elliott played all 60 minutes for the Blues.

Evgeny Grachev had asked the Rangers for a move to another club. Grachev was unhappy with the way the Rangers' organization was handling him. As a result he requested a move that was granted on Saturday. New York turned him into Steven Fogarty in the third round. The Rangers had been shopping him for more than a year, only the Blues bit.

The St. Louis Blues acquired former New York Rangers' prospect Evgeny Grachev. The Rangers originally selected Grachev 75th overall in the 2008 Entry Draft. He has just eight NHL games under his belt. Grachev was traded for a third round pick - number 72 overall which the Rangers used to draft Steven Fogarty.
