Karlsson scored three goals on five shots, dished an assist, went plus-2 and added two PIM in Tuesday's 6-5 shootout loss to Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson was already hot entering the contest, and he exited with his first career hat trick. The 32-year-old's nine goals on the year puts him second to only Connor McDavid (11) in the league. Karlsson is up to 15 points, 32 shots on net, an even plus-minus rating and six PIM through 12 contests. It's one of the best starts in his career, and the defenseman appears to be fully healthy and thriving, though he won't be shooting 28.1 percent all season.

Karlsson scored two goals in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
The first snipe came early in the first when Karlsson wired a wrist shot from between the face-off circles past Andrei Vasilevskiy. His second came on the power play in the third to knot the game 3-3. Karlsson is off to an fantastic start to the season and with the goals, he became the first defender to hit the 10-point mark this season (six goals, five assists in 10 games). Remarkably, it's the first time in his career that he's the first defenseman to 10 points by this point in the season. Karlsson will be a bright light in what will likely be a long season for the Sharks.

Karlsson scored a goal on seven shots, dished two power-play assists and added four PIM in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson turned back the clock with a dominant performance. He secured the Sharks' win 57 seconds into overtime with his goal, and the three-point effort was his best of the season. The defenseman has looked like a younger version of himself so far with four goals, five helpers, 22 shots on net, nine blocked shots and a minus-1 rating in 10 appearances. The biggest question is if he can stay healthy long enough to make this run one that could push fantasy managers to a title.

Karlsson scored the game-winnng goal in overtime Thursday in a 3-2 victory over the Rangers. He also picked up a power-play assist.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson has two goals and five points in six games this season; all of the points have come in the Sharks' last four games. He's been weighed down by injuries for years, but his talent is clear. Plus he's only 32 years old. Karlsson is a premium offensive fantasy defender with a plus-minus that will hang around your team like an anchor.

Karlsson scored a goal on two shots, supplied an assist and went minus-3 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
The good news was Karlsson putting a multi-point performance, but he didn't add much else for fantasy managers. The 32-year-old blueliner is up to three points, five shots on net, four blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through four contests. While he's playing big minutes, the Sharks' poor defense overall will offset some of the expected uptick in offense for Karlsson this year in the first season of the post-Brent Burns era.

EDGE Analysis
Karlsson helped out on an Evgeny Svechnikov goal at 17:48 of the first period. The assist was Karlsson's first point of the year, as he was held off the scoresheet in both games versus the Predators in Prague. Karlsson (lower body) is on the Sharks' training camp roster, indicating he's back to full health.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson missed the last nine games of last season with the injury. The 32-year-old has not exceeded 56 games played in any of the last four years, so fantasy managers should account for that on draft day. With Brent Burns traded to the Hurricanes in the offseason, Karlsson is expected to assume a larger role as the Sharks' clear No. 1 defenseman when he's in the lineup.

According to coach Bob Boughner, Karlsson (lower body) is likely done for the year, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson has yet to resume skating and the Sharks' season will be over following Friday's game versus the Kraken, so at this point it's probably safe to assume the 31-year-old defender is done for the year. Assuming that ends up being the case, Karlsson will finish the campaign having collected 10 goals and 35 points while averaging 23:28 of ice time through 50 contests.
