Phaneuf was officially moved to Los Angeles along with Nate Thompson, with Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore moving to Ottawa, the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phaneuf will be a welcome addition in Los Angeles after the Kings conceded seven goals to Carolina on Tuesday. If he can regain the form he showed a season ago, his value will increase on a team that's pushing for a playoff spot. Ironically, his debut in silver and black could come against the same Pittsburgh team that he ended his Ottawa tenure against.

Phaneuf was sent to Los Angeles with Nate Thompson in exchange for Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Kings needed a No. 4 defenseman, and they got one with Phaneuf. The veteran defenseman isn't going to light up the stat sheet -- three goals and 16 points in 52 games -- but he has dished out 107 hits and blocked 112 shots this season while logging considerable power-play minutes. Further, he still has three years on a contract that averages $7 million per campaign and will get a chance to play with a true Stanley Cup contender for the second consecutive season.

Phaneuf was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Penguins to be traded to Los Angeles, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nothing is official yet, but yanking the veteran blueliner from the game without an injury is a clear sign that Ottawa is serious about trading him to the Kings, who are in the midst of the playoff hunt. Phaneuf would likely slot into a top-four defensive role in Los Angeles if this becomes official.

Phaneuf (undisclosed) won't return to Tuesday's game against the Penguins, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phaneuf only has one assist in six February games, but he continues to contribute in other ways with 18 hits, 19 blocked shots and one fight in that stretch. If this injury will keep the veteran blueliner out of Thursday's game against Buffalo, Fredrik Claesson will likely slot in while the Sens call up a depth defenseman from the minors.

Phaneuf registered two assists during Thursday's 3-2 loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Amazingly, Phaneuf has only marked the scoresheet three times through his past 30 games, and he's recorded two assists in each outing. As a result, he's collected just three goals and 15 points through 45 games. His power-play points (four) and PIM (27) are also way down, so there aren't many settings where the 32-year-old veteran is providing value.

Phaneuf chipped in a pair of assists in a 5-4 win over Columbus on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Phaneuf hasn't been much of a contributor this season, managing just four points in all of December. If he's still on your roster, now's the time to look in another direction to try to make up for his weaknesses

Phaneuf (personal) will return to the lineup for Wednesday's clash with the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Phaneuf has missed the Senators' last two games while attending to a personal matter, but the veteran blueliner will return to a second-pairing role for Wednesday's contest. The 2003 first-round pick has notched three goals and 11 points in 32 games this campaign.

Phaneuf (personal) will not join the team on its trip to Florida on Saturday, Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phaneuf continues to tend to the birth of his child and is scheduled to miss his second straight game as a result. Ben Harpur drew into the lineup in his place Thursday and likely represents the top candidate to do so again Saturday. Phaneuf's next opportunity to rejoin his teammates arrives Wednesday against the Bruins.

Phaneuf (personal) will not play Thursday night against the Lightning, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
EDGE Analysis
There had been a sliver of hope that Phaneuf would join the team in Tampa, but it appears that he's stayed back home to attend to his personal matter. Rookie defenseman Andreas Englund was called up from AHL Belleville as an insurance option with Phaneuf unable to go.

Phaneuf is away on a personal matter and did not travel to Tampa Bay with the team.
EDGE Analysis
TSN added that he might or might not rejoin the team in Tampa. Phaneuf really shouldn't be a top option for your team anyway given his team's struggles as of late, so this shouldn't affect most owners. If he is on your roster, it would be wise to turn to another option rather than wait to see if he skates Thursday.
