Devin Setoguchi and Dan Heatley switched spots on the top line Thursdaey. Setoguchi went back to the left side while Heatley moved back to right wing. The original move was made in training camp. "I've never really played the left side before, so we were trying it out," Setoguchi said. "Heater wanted to play right, so I figured I could play left. It's nice at times and sometimes it's not, like catching a pass. I'm used to playing the right side and he knows how to play the left, so we'll see how this works out." Hopefully Setoguchi will become more comfortable back on the right side and have a good season.

Devin Setoguchi scored his second goal of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Senators. Setoguchi's power play marker late in the first period put the Wild ahead by a score of 2-0 at the time, but the team was unable to hang on to that lead for the remainder of the contest. As a front-line player for the first time in his young career, Setoguchi stands a great chance of establishing a new career high in points this season. Kyle Brodziak and Nick Johnson also added goals in the losing effort.

Devin Setoguchi was thrilled to hear that the Wild acquired Dany Heatley from the San Jose Sharks. The Wild sent Martin Havlat to San Jose as compensation. "When he called me ... I leaped 9 feet in the air. He's one guy I probably hung out with most on the [Sharks]," Setoguchi said. "This has got to be an exciting night for the state of Minnesota and exciting night for our organization." The deal was made a little over a week after the Wild acquired Setoguchi from San Jose in a trade involving Brent Burns. The fact that Setoguchi and Heatley are staying on the same team should make the transition to Minnesota easier on both of them.

Devin Setoguchi will wear number 10 for the Minnesota Wild next season. The number was previously worn in Minnesota by Marian Gaborik. Just an FYI if you care about such things.

Devin Setoguchi has agreed to terms with the San Jose Sharks on a three-year, $9 million contract. "I'm super-excited to be able to stay in the organization. San Jose has been a place where I've built a lot of trust with the players," Setoguchi said. "I'm glad that I'll be around." He found of the back of the net just two times in his first 31 games, but concluded the year with 22 markers and 41 points in 72 contests. He also added seven goals and three assists in 18 playoff matches.
