There hasn't been a lot to be excited about in Arizona this season, and while that definitely includes Stepan's fantasy production, he's still turning in another solid campaign. The veteran is locked into a top scoring role, and he's also posted a plus-1 rating during the noted 25-game stretch. Additionally, the Coyotes are beginning to be more competitive of late with an active 6-2-1 record, so there's potential for Stepan to show improvement over the final weeks of the season.

After finishing with at least a plus-5 rating in each of his seven campaigns with the Rangers, Stepan's first year in the desert has produced a dreadful minus-22 mark, including his even finish here. He did tie for the team lead with four shots, though.

Stepan has been a model of consistency throughout his career and deserves at least a bench spot in standard fantasy leagues.

Stepan was the only Arizona player to have a game that was useful to his fantasy owners, and he even managed to avoid coming out on the negative side of the ledger in plus-minus by putting up a plus-1. His team's struggles limit his effectiveness, but he's still a useful player in most fantasy leagues.

Additionally, he'll have to pick up his scoring pace to record 50 points for a fifth consecutive season.

After Stepan followed up a six-game point streak with two pointless efforts, the first-line center got back on track in a big way Saturday. Stepan has been a very reliable offensive producer and is now up to four goals and 17 points in 29 contests. His consistent scoring makes him worth owning in the majority of fantasy settings.

The Coyotes took another loss, but Stepan assisted on both goals and extended his point streak to six games. Known for usually being consistent, Stepan recently went through a miserable stretch where he went nine straight games without getting on the scoresheet. The 27-year-old has a respectable three goals and 15 points in 26 contests and appears to be heating up. Based on his offensive capabilities and scoring history, the top-line center is definitely worth looking at right now if he's available.

Stepan has just two goals and three assists at even strength through 19 games this season.

EDGE Analysis

Stepan has been handed the top-line job between Clayton Keller and Max Domi, but he hasn't been able to cash in on playing with the talented youngsters. In fact, of the 24 forwards with at least 250 minutes at five-on-five in the league, Stepan's 0.87 points per 60 minutes rank 24th. However, it's interesting to note that Keller ranks sixth highest with a 2.61 mark, so perhaps there has been some tough luck in points column for Stepan. Regardless, it's hard to imagine the established veteran not beginning to deliver better offensive results over the coming weeks.
