MacKenzie has returned to Florida to rehab his knee injury, and will miss the Panthers' next three contests as a result, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacKenzie will miss the final three games of the Panthers' current four-game road trip at the very least, meaning the earliest he'll return to action is Sunday against Vancouver. Recently recalled Corban Knight will likely slot into Florida's lineup for the duration of MacKenzie's absence.

MacKenzie (lower body) is considered just day-to-day, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacKenzie had to be helped off the ice when he suffered the injury Saturday, and did not return to the game, so day-to-day is probably a best-case scenario for the club. His next chance to return to the lineup will come Tuesday against the Islanders, and he hasn't been officially ruled out for the contest at this point.

There was no update on MacKenzie's status (undisclosed) after Saturday's game.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Gerard Gallant had nothing to report in the post-game news conference. MacKenzie had been helped off the ice by a teammate early in the second period of Saturday's game with what was thought to be a lower-body injury. He didn't return to the game.

MacKenzie has been ruled out of the remainder of Saturday's game against the Bruins with a lower-body injury, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacKenzie sustained the injury when he slid awkwardly into the boards after colliding with Boston's Dennis Seidenberg in the second period of Saturday's tilt. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but it appeared as though MacKenzie was unable to put any weight on his left leg when heading to the locker room. The Panthers should provide an update on the 34-year-old forward's status following Saturday's contest.

MacKenzie scored a pair of unassisted goals on three shots in Tuesday's win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The tallies represented MacKenzie's first points since Nov. 4, and he can give thanks to the Blues for a pair of egregious turnovers that gave him prime scoring chances as well as a brutally awful showing by goalie Jake Allen on the second tally. MacKenzie's bottom-six role doesn't generally yield much in the way of stats, particularly outside of formats that count hits.

MacKenzie scored a goal and posted a plus-2 in Tuesday's OT loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
In less than 12 minutes of ice time, MacKenzie and his line were by far the most productive of all the Panthers' groupings. MacKenzie has never been a big point producer, scoring a career-high 23 points in 2010-11, but the 34-year-old seems to be having a late-career renaissance.

MacKenzie tallied an assist and posted a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's victory over the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old center has never been much of a scorer throughout his career, cracking double-digit point totals just three times in his career. Last season, he scored five goals and added six assists, but put up a miserable minus-17 rating. His ice time is fairly suppressed, averaging just 11:16 this season and has limited fantasy value.

MacKenzie picked up an assist in Saturday night's 2-0 win over the Hurricanes.
That's now two games in a row with a point for MacKenzie. He also posted a plus-1 plus/minus, his first positive performance in that category since Feb. 28 when he had two points. Two games in a row doesn't constitute a hot streak, particularly for someone who has only scored 10 points all season (five goals, five assists); however, this is certainly a step in the right direction and he is seeing increased ice time as a result of it.

MacKenzie scored his fifth goal of the season while receiving more ice time (13:26) than he has since Feb. 3 in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Jets.
The fourth line center has never really been a big source of points, but the 31-year-old still found a way to score one of the nicer goals of the season against the Jets. MacKenzie has five goals and five assists on the season while sporting a minus-16 plus/minus. With limited scoring ability and a woeful plus/minus, MacKenzie should only be considered in the deepest leagues.

MacKenzie had the assist on the game winning goal and added the insurance goal in the closing minute of the Panthers' 5-3 win over the Sabres on Saturday.
This was MacKenzie's first multi-point game of the season and his first point since Jan. 11 and first goal of 2015. The 33-year-old is a valuable piece of the Panthers depth, but he's not a huge point scorer, doesn't rack up a ton of penalty minutes and is only seeing about 12 minutes of ice time a night. MacKenzie has limited fantasy value unless he can continue scoring points on a nightly basis.
