Injury: Senators head coach Paul MacLean says all tests came back n... dailyfaceoff.com Mon 11/4/13 2:56 PM
When Anderson returns to the net according to MacLean depends "on his level of comfort". He will not make the trip to Columbus tomorrow and Robin Lehner will get the start. Nathan Lawson is expected to get recalled to back-up Lehner.
DAILY PRIME TODAY: GOALIE UPS AND DOWNS primepucks.com Mon 11/4/13 5:48 AM
There were several note-worthy performances by goaltenders last night which should garner attention from fantasy owners. In his first career NHL start, Swiss import Reto Berra back-stopped the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 OT victory over the Chicago Blackhawks by saving aside 42 of 44 shots. Considering the dismal state of goaltending affairs in Calgary, the 26-year old will get a long look in the crease for the Flames. Joey MacDonald was released and Karri Ramo has floundered since returning from the KHL. Starting goalies are hard to come by in fantasy, so maybe take a gamble on Berra, who despite not posting great numbers in the AHL or the Swiss League, has earned the confidence of Coach Hartley early on.. Minnesota's Josh Harding is quietly putting together an All-Star caliber season, going 7-2-1 with a 1.10 GAA and a .950 SP. His latest effort, a 19-save shutout of the New Jersey Devils last night, should earn him a few more starts, as the separation between him and Niklas Backstrom for the Wild starting job has dwindled. He is definitely worth a flier if you are in need of goalie help.
And now for the "bad": Ottawa's Craig Anderson had stopped 33 of 36 shots in yesterday's afternoon tilt against Dallas before suffering a neck injury in overtime and being carried off in a stretcher after colliding with Stars forward Valeri Nichuskin. The 32-year old, along with his team, is off to a rocky start with unfriendly fantasy numbers: 4-4-2, 3.14 GAA, and a .912 SP. We liked his chances to turn it around soon and represent a huge "buy low" opportunity for fantasy owners, but things just got worse for Anderson. We wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully, the injury turns out less severe than it initially seemed.
Keep your eye on: Kris Russell of Calgary. Just hours after writing about him in our latest edition of ADD'EM, the 26-year old defenseman confirmed our high fantasy hopes by tallying the overtime game-winner against Chicago. He is getting tons of quality ice-time alongside Dennis Wideman on the Flames' primary defensive pairing, and the points are now coming. While it's uncertain whether he can maintain this offensive production for the long-term, he is worth a roster spot until Mark Giordano returns from his broken ankle injury.
Injury: Anderson was taken off the ice on a stretcher after a colli... dailyfaceoff.com Sun 11/3/13 7:56 PM
Anderson waved to the crowd as he exited the ice, which is a good sign but it was a scary looking incident. He had allowed three goals on 36 shots before departing in overtime. Robin Lehner will take over as the Senators goalie should Anderson miss an extended period of time.
Goalie Start: Anderson starts on Sunday. dailyfaceoff.com Sat 11/2/13 7:56 PM
Anderson was shelled in his hometown on Tuesday. He allowed six goals on 40 shots in a 6-5 loss to Chicago. He was given the night off on Friday, but will face the Dallas Stars tomorrow. It isn't a great matchup, but on a quiet night in the NHL - start him if you need him.
Goalie Start: Anderson is the first off the ice. dailyfaceoff.com Tue 10/29/13 2:56 PM
Anderson was beat up for five goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Sharks on Sunday. A matchup with San Jose has been rough for all goalies this season, so we will give Anderson a pass on this one. That being said, facing the Blackhawks on the road.. Is not any better of a matchup.
Goalie Start: Senators going back with Anderson in goal against Sha... dailyfaceoff.com Sat 10/26/13 2:56 PM
Anderson had his three game winning streak snapped on Friday. He stopped 26 of 28 shots in the loss to the Ducks. He was outplayed by another Andersen, who made his first NHL start. He has a tough matchup vs. the Sharks on Sunday, but either you need stats or you don't on Sunday - your call to start him.

ALL GOALIES CONFIRMED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED AT TIME OF PRINT
The Islanders always seem to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a fight and tonight should not be any different as Evgeni Nabokov gets the start. For the Pens, Marc-Andre Fleury gets the night off as Jeff Zatkoff gets his second start. Zatkoff looked a bit shaky in his first start against Florida, giving up 6 goals, so I don't see the Isles having that hard of a time against Zatkoff.....As the Anaheim Ducks are on the back end of back-to-back nights, Frederick Andersen (LIKELY) will be making his first NHL start against the Ottawa Senators. Tough night to get your first start as Spezza & Company have been lighting it up of late. In the battle of the Andersons, I give the nod to the Senators' Craig Anderson....With Cam Ward in the infirmary ward again; Jason Peters has been called upon to man the nets for the Carolina Hurricanes for the next little while. Unfortunately he will be taking on Semyon Varlamov & the Avalanche in Colorado, which has become a tough place to play for visiting teams. Head Coach Patrick Roy has his team playing so well with an 8-1 record; it still would have been difficult to win even with Ward in the net.... Jhonas Enroth gets the call tonight as the Buffalo Sabres swing down to Florida to take on the Panthers. With the injury to Tim Thomas, Jacob Markstrom gets the start for the home team. Although the Panthers have been playing better of late, Enroth just may get the better of Markstrom tonight....The Toronto Maple Leafs head to Columbus to take on Sergei Bobrovsky and the Blue Jackets. Bobrovsky has posted decent numbers so far this season, but his stats pale in comparison to last years, the reason for his 3-5 record. Jonathan Bernier on the other hand has been playing spectacular as he battles for the No. 1 job in TO. Look for Bernier to build on his 4-2 victory over the Ducks....With Vancouver and Luongo playing last night, it is likely that Eddie Lack (LIKELY) will get the start against Jaroslav Halak and the St. Louis Blues. Expect the Blues to keep the Canucks offense at bay, and because of the lack of suppprt (pardon the pun), Halak wins.
FANTASY MUST-STARTS
Craig Anderson, Ottawa vs. Anaheim
Jonathan Bernier, Toronto @ Columbus
Jaroslav Halak, St. Louis vs. Vancouver
Semyon Varlamov, Colorado vs. Carolina
SLEEPER ALERT
Evgeni Nabokov, NY Islanders @ Pittsburgh
Jhonas Enroth, Buffalo @ Florida

Goalie Start: Anderson starts tomorrow. dailyfaceoff.com Thu 10/24/13 2:56 PM
Anderson stopped 31 of 33 shots in an easy win over the Red Wings on Wednesday. He will face a strong offensive Ducks team tomorrow. The last time he faced Anaheim he was pulled just 4:06 into the game after allowed two goals on nine shots.
Goalie Start: Anderson off the ice first; He starts for the Sabres. dailyfaceoff.com Wed 10/23/13 2:56 PM
Anderson allowed two goals on 42 shots in a win over the Devils last Thursday. He has had six days off since his last start, so he should be fresh tonight vs. a good Red Wings squad. Ottawa has allowed a ton of shots this season and Anderson has done all he can posting a .924 SV% through six starts.
