Corey Tropp has inked a two-year extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tropp was a restricted free agent. He had 10 points and 37 penalty minutes in 44 games in 2013-14.

Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen has had an eye on Corey Tropp for a while. "I first had interest in him then," said Kekalainen referring to Tropp's draft year in 2007. "He had a good college career at Michigan State. He's a good player who brings a bit of grit. We think there is a lot of potential." The Jackets have plenty of injury issues up front, so Tropp will get a chance to step into the lineup on Friday against Edmonton.
