Corey Crawford (lower body) is likely to return to Chicago's lineup next week.
Coach Joel Quenneville believes Crawford will be back for either Thursday's game against the New York Islanders or Friday's contest versus the New Jersey Devils. Antti Raanta has played well during Crawford's absence, but he'll lose a great deal of fantasy value when the Blackhawks get their number one goalie back.

Corey Crawford may need only a practice or two before he returns to action.
He won't play Saturday night against St. Louis but if he has a good couple of practices he might even be a possibility Monday against the Kings. We think it is more likely Crawford will return to the net Thursday against the Islanders. Get ready to activate him next week.

Corey Crawford (lower body) worked out on the ice before Friday's morning skate.
"Real good progress," coach Joel Quenneville said. "He felt good today, had a much more intense workout than he had the last times on the ice. Over the next couple (or) three days, we'll get him more with the guys as we go along here. We like the progress. He feels much better." Crawford might travel with the team to St. Louis for Saturday's contest.

Corey Crawford (lower body) should start practicing after the Christmas break.
In the meantime, Crawford has skated for four straight days. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville doesn't think Crawford is too far away from returning.

Look for Corey Crawford (lower body) to be back at practice after the Christmas break.
Crawford has started skating and looks to be ready to return in the New Year barring any setback. He was hurt two weeks ago and the original prognosis was three weeks so he seems to be on track. He is 17-6-3 with a 2.47 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

Although he is not yet skating, Corey Crawford is progressing well in his recovery from a lower-body injury.
So says Chicago coach Joel Quenneville. The Hawks will re-evaluate Crawford's status next week but he will likely be out of action for another 2-3 weeks.

Corey Crawford (lower body) is expected to be sidelined for about three weeks.
Crawford left Sunday's game because of the ailment. He has a 2.47 GAA and .907 save percentage in 27 contests this season. With backup netminder Nikolai Khabibulin sidelined too, it seems probable that Antti Raanta will get a fair amount of playing time for the remainder of the month.

Corey Crawford (lower body) won't travel with the Blackhawks to Dallas for Tuesday night's contest versus the Stars.
Chicago has brought up goalie Kent Simpson from the minors to take his place. Crawford suffered a lower-body injury Sunday night and should be considered day-to-day for now.

Chicago bench boss Joel Quenneville doesn't think Corey Crawford's lower-body injury is serious.
"I don't think it's too serious. But when it's a goalie it's a little more serious than other players because of how important he is to our team," said Quenneville. "We'll have a better assessment (Monday) but I think we're along those lines." With Crawford potentially sidelined, the Blackhawks will be forced to turn rookie Antti Raanta and whoever comes up from the minors as their goaltenders. He suffered what appeared to be a groin injury in the first period of Sunday's win over Florida and had to leave the game.
