Geekie scored two goals and an assist in Wednesday's 8-7 preseason win over Florida.
EDGE Analysis
Geekie was the most noticeable Bolt on the ice. His first goal was a wraparound power-play marker after stealing the puck behind the Florida goal. But it was the second snipe that got fans out of their seats. In the final seconds of the game, Geekie when end-to-end, danced wide and wired a shot over Keith Appleby to seal the win. It was a dominant performance for the young pivot, but it remains to be seen where he will start the season.

Geekie had a strong rookie camp and heads into the Lightning training camp hoping to win a job with the big club.
EDGE Analysis
The Bolts haven't had a prospect of Geekie's caliber in years, and the hype train is gathering steam. He has size and skill, and the Bolts will need him to step into a role sooner rather than later. The tale of training camp will determine if Geekie suits up for the Lightning or heads off to the AHL.

Geekie , J.J. Moser, a 2025 second-round pick and the No. 199 selection in the 2024 NHL Draft were acquired by Tampa Bay on Saturday from Utah in exchange for Mikhail Sergachev.
EDGE Analysis
Geekie was the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He tallied 43 goals and 56 assists in 54 games between Wenatchee and Swift Current of the WHL in 2023-24. He also dressed for two playoff games for Utah's AHL affiliate in Tucson. Geekie immediately elevates Tampa Bay's thin prospect pool, especially down the middle. At 6-foot-4, the left-shooting pivot will eventually bring size, skill and vision to the Lightning. Geekie is continuing to work on his skating mechanics, as that was the knock on him on Draft Day.

Geekie signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Arizona on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Geekie tallied 24 goals and 70 points in 63 games with WHL Winnipeg last season and was taken 11th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The big-bodied center should play in juniors again during the 2022-23 campaign as he continues his development. Geekie just turned 18 in May and he's likely a few years away from making an impact with the Coyotes.
