Allen was released from his professional tryout offer from the Red Wings on Thursday.

Allen wasn't given much of a chance, as he failed to draw into any preseason games with the Winged Wheel. The undrafted defender who hails from Chicago appears destined to be a career minor leaguer given that the Wings weren't overly interested in his services despite having serious question marks on the blue line entering the 2016-17 campaign.

Allen was traded to the Wild on Monday in exchange for forward Michael Keranen.

Minnesota's been really quiet with the trade deadline about to come to a close, which is surprising given that the team still has a fighting chance to land in the postseason. Of course, this could simply mean that the team is confident in interim coach John Torchetti's ability to keep the team rolling in a positive direction. Allen should be able to assist in that venture as a physical depth defenseman, albeit with only two years of NHL experience.

Allen has been traded to the Senators in exchange for Patrick Mullen.

Allen is the younger defenseman involved in the deal and unlike Mullen, has some NHL experience. The undrafted 25-year-old appeared in seven games with the Rangers before signing a one-year, two-day contract with the Predators this past offseason. Allen will provide organizational depth for the Senators.

Allen signed a one-year, two-way contract with Nashville on Thursday. Allen, who recorded 11 goals and 34 points to go along with 113 PIM in 72 games for AHL Hartford last season, has seen action in seven NHL games to date, without recording a point. The 25-year-old will provide the Preds' organization with blue line depth.

Allen wasn't extended a qualifying offer by the Rangers on Monday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Andrew Gross of The Record reports. Allen skated in four games last season for the Rangers, but his services were only needed with a number of the team's defensemen dealing with injuries. With the Rangers content to let some of their younger blueliners play regularly at AHL Hartford this coming season, Allen was deemed to be expendable.

Allen was reassigned to AHL Hartford, Andrew Gross of The Record reports. Allen was called up to the Rangers along with Dylan McIlrath when Ryan McDonagah and Kevin Klein went down with injuries. This is pretty much expected since the injuries to McDonagh and Klein are not long term. Allen may be called back up to New York throughout the season when the Rangers are in need of a defenseman but he most likely won't stay for long periods of time. He has two goals and three assists in eight games played this year.

Allen was recalled from Hartford of the AHL on Sunday, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports. With Ryan McDonagh (shoulder) Kevin Klein (foot) both banged up, the Rangers called up Allen, as well as teammate Dylan McIlrath on Monday. The pair will likely be in Monday's lineup against the Blues. Allen has two goals and three assists in eight games for Hartford this season.

Allen was assigned to AHL Hartford on Wednesday. Allen, 24, appeared in three games for the Rangers last season, but wasn't able to distinguish himself enough in training camp to earn a roster spot. He'll instead head back to Hartford, where he accumulated six goals and 25 assists over 72 contests.

The New York Rangers sent Conor Allen back to the minors on Sunday. JFYI as Allen doesn't carry fantasy value at this point in his career.

Conor Allen has been called up by the Rangers. The team isn't sure how long Anton Stralman, who suffered an undisclosed injury Friday night, will be out for so Allen will join the team as insurance.
