Obviously, McDavid is much more well-known for his scoring. He's already posted five points and 16 shots on net through three games. The 24-year-old had gone 14-for-30 at the dot entering Saturday, and his career faceoff rate stood at 44.1 percent. Don't expect the dominance on the draws to continue -- he'll more than make up for it on the scoresheet.

That's more like it. McDavid was held pointless in Wednesday's season opener, but he came back with a vengeance Thursday. It's the 13th four-point game of his already illustrious career. Fantasy managers don't necessarily expect this on a nightly basis, but it's well known the 24-year-old superstar can sometimes win a game all by himself. He'll turn his attention to the Canadiens on Saturday and Monday.

McDavid is back on the ice following his COVID-19 diagnosis back in October as he prepares for the upcoming season. This past year was the first time the world-class center failed to reach the 100-point threshold since his rookie campaign, when he played just 45 games. There is no reason to think McDavid can't produce at that level again in 2020-21, and he should be a near-lock for the No. 1 pick in redraft formats, though teammate Leon Draisaitl could also be in the mix.

The Oilers announced that McDavid (illness) tested positive to COVID-19 and is currently self-quarantining.

So far, it sounds like Edmonton's captain has experienced very mild symptoms which is a great sign. McDavid will likely self-quarantine until he's able to provide a negative test result. Barring a drastic change, this shouldn't affect his status for next season.

McDavid was dominant on the power play, but absolutely dominate in the face-off circle. Jonathan Toews schooled the young stud, leaving the young stud with just a handful of face-off wins (4-of-12). McDavid came into Game 1 looking like he was on a mission and three points are great. But the team around him need to tighten their shin pads and play a better team game, or the Oil could be watching this tournament from home. Game 2 is Monday.

McDavid was voted the league's best forward by his peers in the NHLPA player poll.
