The 28-year-old netminder is sporting a career-worst 2.92 GAA but should still reach both the 60-game mark as well as the 30-win threshold this year. Despite the less-than-stellar season, Hellebucyk should still be capable of offering top-end fantasy value.

The Kings scored a goal at each strength, and that dominance of the special teams battle was too much for the Jets to answer. Hellebuyck has faced at least 35 shots in seven of his last 10 games, and the absence of Nate Schmidt (COVID-19 protocols) likely isn't helping the Jets' defensive woes. The 28-year-old Hellebuyck slipped to 25-24-9 with a 2.92 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 58 games. There's little margin for error left for the Jets if they're to make the playoffs -- expect Hellebuyck to continue starting regularly until they're out of the running.

Hellebuyck will defend the blue paint during Saturday's home game versus the Kings.

Hellebuyck has been sharp recently, picking up back-to-back wins over the Coyotes and the Sabres while posting an impressive 1.39 GAA and .955 save percentage. He'll try to secure a third straight victory in a home matchup with an LA team that's 19-9-6 on the road this year.

Both goalies were pretty good throughout most of the night, as the Jets erased a pair of one-goal deficits over the first two periods and neither team scored in the third nor overtime. That wasn't the case in the shootout, though, as Hellebuyck denied Tage Thompson on the first shot before each of the next five shooters scored. Once the dust settled, the Jets won both the shootout and the game by 3-2 margins, giving Hellebuyck his 25th win of the season and sixth in his last eight starts.

Hellebuyck is slated to be between the pipes on the road against Buffalo on Wednesday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Hellebuyck will get the easier of the Jets' back-to-back by facing the Sabres while backup Eric Comrie will likely be in goal versus Toronto on the road Thursday. The 28-year-old netminder is running out of time if he wants to get back over the 30-win threshold this year, as he is currently sitting with 24 with a little over a month left in the season. Still, the Michigan native will continue to see the bulk of the workload moving forward and should be near the top of the NHL in games played this year.
