The lack of points won't make him attractive in fantasy, but he's well-rounded should his offense take off later in the year.

Miller gave the Stars a 2-0 lead with his second-period tally. It was his first goal with Dallas, just one game after he got his first point with his new club. Since he doesn't score much, he's unlikely to be a serviceable option for most fantasy managers.

Given his lack of offense, he's not likely to be much of a factor in fantasy, though he probably won't be this cold all year, either.

Miller signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract with the Stars on Wednesday.

Miller will join the Stars to fill a similar role as he did with the Sabres last year. The 29-year-old will likely play in a bottom-four capacity. He had 14 points, 50 hits, 42 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in 38 contests last season.

Miller has cleared the NHL's COVID-19 protocols, but he'll need to log a few rehab skates before rejoining the team for practice, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

EDGE Analysis

At this point it isn't clear when Miller, who's picked up 14 points through 36 contests this season, will be ready to rejoin the lineup. Once given the green light, look for Miller to slot into a bottom-four role.
