Chris Bourque has a legitimate shot of making the Boston Bruins out of training camp.
Bourque recently agreed to a two-year deal with the Boston Bruins after they acquired his rights from Washington. "I told [Chris] that I think he has a good chance of making our team. I told him that he's just not there to go to Providence," said Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli. "If he goes to Providence then that's great, but giving him a one-way deal in the second year speaks to how we feel about Chris. He's got a couple of areas to work on and I told him that." Bourque has been a star in the AHL, so it will be interesting to see what he can do if he's given a chance on one of the Bruins' top two lines.

Chris Bourque has agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Bruins.
Bourque will earn $200,000 at the AHL level in 2012-13 and $550,000 if he plays with the Bruins. However, the deal is one-way in 2013-14, which means he'll get paid the same amount regardless of where he plays. There's a good chance he'll start the 2012-13 campaign in the minors, but he's worth keeping an eye on if he ever gets a chance on one of the Bruins' top two lines. He had 27 goals and 93 points in 73 AHL contests in 2011-12.
