O'Reilly inked a one-way deal in the offseason to join his brother Ryan in Buffalo, but was disappointing enough in camp to push him through waivers to Rochester. In 21 AHL games this season, the 29-year-old has three points, 11 assists, and a -11 rating.

O'Reilly was waived by the Sabres on Sunday, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.

O'Reilly signed with the Sabres on a one-way deal, making him a decent candidate to earn a roster spot with the Sabres. He apparently didn't do enough in camp to do so, however, and he'll now go through waivers before potentially being assigned to AHL Rochester.

O'Reilly signed a two-year, $1.4 million contract with the Sabres on Wednesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. Less than a week after acquiring Ryan O'Reilly to bolster their top-six ranks, the Sabres will bring in older brother Cal, who last played in the Canucks organization. The elder O'Reilly is the less accomplished of the two players, but submitted an excellent season for AHL Utica in 2014-15, recording 10 goals and 51 assists in 76 games. With the Sabres inking him to a one-way deal, O'Reilly should be in contention for a role as the club's fourth-line center.

Cal O'Reilly has agreed to terms with the Vancouver Canucks. O'Reilly had seven goals and 45 points in 52 AHL games in 2013-14. He's a depth forward, but one that might get called up in the event of an injury.

Cal O'Reilly was signed by PIT on Friday January 18.

With a start-studded lineup featuring NHLers Evgeni Malkin, Sergei Gonchar and Nikolai Kulimen Metallurg Magnitorgorsk defeated Slovan Bratislava 3-2 in KHL action Saturday. Surprisingly, it was former Penguin and Predator Cal O'Reilly who was the offensive catalyst in the victory. He registered two assists including one on the game winning marker. Former NHL defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky also plays for Magnitogorsk.
