Brian Boucher could get into some game action early into the season. The Hurricanes open the year with games on Friday against Florida, Saturday versus Washington and Monday in New Jersey. "You look at the schedule and it's if not in the first three, when?" coach Paul Maurice said. Cam Ward is expected to get the nod for Friday's home opener and beyond that we'll keep you posted.

The Carolina Hurricanes have inked Brian Boucher to a two-year/$1.9 million contract. In Boucher, Carolina is getting a solid backup goaltender. His presence will allow the Hurricanes to rest Cam Ward a bit more often. That being said, Boucher still isn't expected to play in much more than 20 games next season. Unless Ward suffers a significant injury, we don't see Boucher having much fantasy value next season.
