Saad scored two goals on three shots in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Saad entered Tuesday's contest with a three-game point drought, but he snapped it with a tally late in the first period. The winger then doubled up with the Avalanche's seventh and final goal. The season numbers still aren't great -- he has three scores, eight shots on goal and a minus-7 rating through seven appearances. Fantasy managers will hope this is a sign of a turnaround for Saad.

EDGE Analysis
Saad was on the ice for Anaheim's first goal and fell to minus-8 through six games. He was minus-4 in an opening-night loss to the Blues and hasn't done much since. The winger, who has one goal, has taken just five shots.

Saad scored his first goal for the Avalanche in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Saad opened the scoring at 3:07 of the first period, and the Avalanche never trailed in the contest. It's been a tough start to the year for Saad -- the goal was his point in three contests, and he carries a minus-4 rating. Never much of a physical player, the 28-year-old winger needs to produce on the scoresheet to interest most fantasy managers. Saad and center Nazem Kadri may need some time to develop better chemistry on the second line.

Saad (undisclosed) is on the ice for Friday's practice, NHL.com's Rick Sadowski reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saad was held out of the first four days of camp with an undisclosed issue, but he should still have plenty of time to settle into his spot on Colorado's second line ahead of Wednesday's regular-season opener against St. Louis. The former Blackhawk should be able to match or even exceed the 21 goals and 33 points he put up last campaign in 2020-21.

Saad (undisclosed) was deemed unfit to play for the start of training camp Monday by coach Jared Bednar, Rick Sadowski of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The offseason trade acquisition will have to wait to make his practice debut with his new club, likely because he still hasn't completed quarantine requirements. Colorado should clarify the reason for Saad's absence Tuesday, though there's little reason to believe he's in danger of missing the Jan. 13 season opener against St. Louis.

The Blackhawks traded Saad and Dennis Gilbert to the Avalanche for Nikita Zadorov and Anton Lindholm on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saad spent three years with the Blackhawks during his second stint with the team, but he'll head to a Central Division foe to play out the final year of his contract. The 27-year-old winger has scored at least 20 goals in five of the last six seasons, and he'll carve out a top-nine role with the Avalanche. Whether he earns time in the top six is up to coach Jared Bednar, but the team will have plenty of flexibility due to its strong forward depth. Saad's scoring knock combined with the possibility of playing alongside Nathan MacKinnon should be enough to catch fantasy managers' attention.

Saad posted a shorthanded assist in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 1 of their first-round series.
EDGE Analysis
Saad harassed a Golden Knights' defender through the neutral zone and forced a turnover before firing a clever pass to David Kampf, who converted the shorthanded tally. In five playoff games, Saad has racked up two goals, two assists and eight shots. He should continue to see top-six usage.

Saad scored a goal in Friday's 3-2 win over the Oilers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers.
EDGE Analysis
Saad scored the Blackhawks' first goal of the game, tying the score at one in the first period. It's the winger's second goal and third point of the series. He added a plus-2 rating and eight shots on net while working alongside Jonathan Toews and Dominik Kubalik, a trio that should be capable of putting up big numbers during the playoffs. Saad had 21 goals and 33 points in 58 regular-season games.

Saad found twine 21 times and chipped in 12 assists in 58 games prior to the league going on hiatus in mid-March.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has officially reached the 20-goal plateau for the fifth time in his NHL career. Saad has actually scored at a better clip than last season's 23-goal output over 80 games (0.36 goals per contest compared to 0.29), so the 27-year-old still makes for a nice complementary piece of offense behind stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews and the younger Dominik Kubalik and Alex DeBrincat.
