Brandon Prust might be suspended for his questionable hit on Rangers forward Drek Stepan on Thursday. The incident occurred early in the first period. The Rangers felt Prust's hit focused on Stepan's head. Fortunately Stepan didn't appear to be badly hurt as a result of the incident.

Brandon Prust didn't participate in Thursday's morning skate, but he will be available for Game 3 against the New York Rangers. It was an optional session, but coach Michel Therrien said that changes could be made to Montreal's lineup with the team down 2-0 in the series. Prust has been a healthy scratch two times in the playoffs.

There are six players who will particiapte in the Canadiens/Rangers series who have played for the opposite team at one point in their respective careers. Current Habs Brandon Prust and Dale Weise played for the Rangers, while current New Yorkers Ryan McDonough, Benoit Pouliot, Dominic Moore and Raphael Diaz all were once part of the Canadiens' organization. It will be interesting to see how Prust, Weise and Diaz perform as they all switched teams in the last two seasons.

Montreal inserted Brandon Prust back into the lineup for Game 5 on Saturday. Prust spent two games in the press box. He was limited to 8:28 minutes of ice time and was credited with one hit in Montreal's 4-2 loss to Boston.

Brandon Prust is using Montreal's time off to rest. He was able to return in the playoffs after missing the last 12 games of the regular season with a suspected should injury. "The next couple of days are about recovering," he said Wednesday. "I haven't gotten out of bed too much, except to grab some food and watch some TV. I've slept the day away. No plans. I doubt we'll move far from the bed today." He also stated that he's been keeping an eye on the Boston-Detroit series to see which team the Canadiens will face in Round 2.
