At this pace, the Finn's next break will likely come Nov. 10 or 11 when the Yotes have their first back-to-back of the season.

His wins ceiling is obviously capped by playing with what will almost certainly end up being the league's most inept offense, but Raanta's capable of a top-10 finish in rate stats. Last season, he ranked second in both GAA (2.24) and save percentage (.930).

Raanta played great when healthy last season, posting a 2.24 GAA and .930 save percentage. This year, he has a 2.21 GAA, but actually has a .903 save percentage somehow. That should improve, but a road game against a team that has averaged 4.40 goals per contest to start the year will provide the Finn with a tough challenge.

Raanta stopped 20 of 23 shots Saturday, taking a 3-0 loss to Buffalo.

EDGE Analysis

This was actually Raanta's worst performance of the season, as he hadn't given up more than two goals before Saturday. Raanta could have been better, but it wouldn't have mattered in terms of getting the win given that the Coyotes never found the net. After three solid games, he was due for a below-average performance, and that shouldn't take away from the solid start he's had this year. If he's on your roster, there's no need to overreact to one difficult night.
