Raanta turned aside 30 of 34 shots in Friday's 5-2 loss to Florida.
EDGE Analysis
The Panthers' final goal was scored into an empty net. The 'Canes grabbed an early 1-0 lead but it quickly melted away as Florida came at Carolina in waves, and Raanta had little chance to stop any of the pucks that beat him. It's the veteran netminder's first loss since Oct. 15, leaving him with a solid 4-2-0 record through seven appearances, but on the season Raanta has a less appealing 3.02 GAA and .877 save percentage.

Raanta will get the starting nod in Florida on Friday, Doug Plagens of the Panthers Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raanta will make his third straight start as he continues shouldering the load in Frederick Andersen's (illness) absence. Raanta has earned three straight wins, including his 20-save shutout Oct. 27 against the Sharks. During that stretch, he's posted a .924 save percentage. However, his season mark still sits at .877 through six appearances.

Raanta stopped 20 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
While he didn't see a lot of volume, Raanta had to make some very tough saves just to get Carolina to OT and set the stage for another Martin Necas game-winner. Raanta has won four straight starts, allowing a total of seven goals on 81 shots during those outings, and the fact that the Hurricanes brought in Jaroslav Halak on a free-agent tryout earlier this week is a strong sign Frederik Andersen (illness) won't be back on the ice any time soon. As long as Raanta can stay healthy himself, the 34-year-old appears set for a fairly hefty workload, with youngster Pyotr Kochetkov -- just called back up from AHL Syracuse on Monday -- backing him up for now.

Raanta will guard the home goal against Buffalo on Tuesday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.
EDGE Analysis
Raanta made 22 saves in a 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders on Saturday. In five contests this campaign, he has a 3-1-0 record with a 3.03 GAA and an .870 save percentage. With Frederik Andersen out indefinitely due to a blood clotting issue, Raanta and Pyotr Kochetkov, who was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Monday, could share playing time.

Raanta made 22 saves in a 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
He surrendered three goals before the Canes rallied to tie and then win the game. Raanta has won two straight games, but his overall numbers are thin. He has a 3.03 GAA and .870 save percentage. Plus the three-headed goal monster in Raleigh makes it hard for them to get enough consistent time in the paint to establish a groove.

Raanta will protect the road goal versus the Islanders on Saturday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Raanta posted a 20-save shutout against the Sharks in his previous outing, but Frederik Andersen has started the last two games. With an .867 save percentage over four games, Raanta hasn't played all that well early in 2023-24. The Islanders have scored just 16 goals over their last six games, making this a favorable spot for Raanta to try to build on his last start.

Raanta turned aside all 20 shots he faced in a 3-0 win on Friday against the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
It was the 20th career shutout for Raanta, and his first since April 1 of last season on the road against the Canadiens. It was his first shutout at PNC Arena since Feb. 24, 2023 against the Senators. He was nearly dinged for a goal in the third period, as Nico Sturm rang one off of the pipes, saving Raanta's shutout. He'll continue to share playing time with Frederik Andersen as long as both goalies remain healthy.

Raanta will tend the twine for Friday's home clash with San Jose, per NHL.com.
EDGE Analysis
Raanta will be between the pipes for the first time since Oct. 19 against the Kraken in which he gave up four goals on 18 shots before getting pulled. In total, the veteran backstop has made three appearances for the Hurricanes this season, going 1-1-0 with a sub-par 4.41 GAA and .818 save percentage over that span. If he continues to struggle, Frederik Andersen could see a larger portion of the workload going forward.

Raanta won't start Saturday versus the Avalanche, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Hurricanes carrying three goalies right now, there was some confusion earlier in the day as to who would start. Raanta was initially projected to start, but Pyotr Kochetkov will get the nod instead.

Raanta will guard the visiting goal versus Colorado on Saturday, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frederik Andersen was the first goaltender off the ice at practice, but he is not ready to play as he still has an upper-body injury. Raanta is 1-1-0 this season and has not played well, having allowed 10 goals on 55 shots in three starts. He will face the 4-0-0 Avalanche, who have scored 15 goals in four games.
