Bad news for Markov owners, who knew they were in for a long wait. At this point all you can do is wait and hope he returns within this calendar year.

Markov did not travel to San Jose and will not play tonight. The oft-injured defenseman is in Los Angeles and questionable to play against the Kings on Saturday.

Markov will not play tonight although he is close to returning. Expect him to get into at least one game on the Habs' West Coast swing.

Markov skated with Alexei Emelin this morning and took some reps on the power play. He remains probable for Wednesday's game and likely returns over the next week.

No surprise Markov remains out despite being cleared for contact. An early December comeback sounds more attainable at this point.

Certainly a step in the right direction. However, Markov still remains sidelined indefinitely with no tangible timeframe.

Clearance for contact is clearly the next step at this point. Until that happens, don't hold your breath for a quick comeback.

The Canadiens embark on a West Coast swing starting on November 30th which means Markov at the very least misses the next five games. At this point he will be lucky to play this calendar year.

Markov practicing with teammates is certainly a welcome sign however he remains a while away from returning. His last NHL game came over a year ago on November 13th.
