Emelin has just two assists in 14 games this season, and is currently riding a nine-game pointless drought.
EDGE Analysis
Skating on the second pairing opposite P.K. Subban has not exactly turned Emelin into a fantasy-worthy option this season. Despite maintaining his top-four status on the Preds' blue line, Emelin's offensive zone start percentage is a mere 36.3%, meaning he spends most games stuck in his own end trying to prevent goals, rather than score them. The fact that the Preds deploy him as more of a defensive specialist translates into very little fantasy value in most formats. There are better options out there.

Emelin recorded his first two points in a Predators jersey with a pair of assists in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Even with the return of Roman Josi (lower body) to the lineup, Emelin still saw elevated minutes of 17:08 playing on the top pairing opposite P.K. Subban. Emelin still doesn't see any time on the power play, but he still has a strong enough supporting cast to make him a decent low-tier fantasy option in deeper formats.

Emelin has been logging time on the top defensive pairing the past three games, averaging almost 20 minutes per game alongside P.K. Subban.
EDGE Analysis
After seeing just 9:47 in his debut game for the Preds and sitting out the next game as a healthy scratch, Emelin has been thrust into a very prominent role ever since Roman Josi went down with a lower-body injury. He doesn't have much to show for it, however, with zero points through four games along with a minus-1 rating and just three shots on goal. Expect the 31-year-old defender to return to a second- or third-line role once Josi gets the green light to return to the lineup.

Emelin (knee) will be in the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Panthers, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.
EDGE Analysis
After making a brief stop in Las Vegas, Emelin is ready to make his Nashville debut and is apparently fully recovered from the knee surgery he underwent in April. The Russian defender's former Montreal teammate P.K. Subban is also in the early game lineup, so it will be interesting to see if coach Peter Laviolette chooses to reunite the two on a defensive pairing, if only for this preseason game.

Emelin (knee) was traded by Vegas to Nashville for third-round draft pick, Darren Dreger of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Emelin was only in Vegas for a few days before getting traded, but he will now be the second Montreal defenseman to end up in Nashville in the past two years, joining former teammate P.K. Subban. The physical defender will likely fit into a bottom-four role in a stacked Nashville defensive core, but expect him to make a push for over 200 hits and 100 blocked shots, just as he has the past four seasons.

Emelin has been selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL Expansion Draft , Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeBrun's update also states that the Habs did not have to entice Vegas with a draft pick to select the hard-hitting Russian defenseman. Emelin has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $4.1 million. He also has a modified 10-team no-trade clause. Don't be the least bit surprised if the Golden Knights move Emelin to another club in the coming days. He has never reached the 20-point mark in his NHL career and his defensive play has become increasingly erratic. It's hard to imagine all that many teams being interested in Emelin at that price tag, but the majority of the league is on the lookout for NHL-caliber defensemen.

Emelin had arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Emelin missed six games toward the end of the 2016-17 campaign with a lower-body injury that was likely the same malady that required surgery. The defenseman is expected to be cleared in 4-to-6 weeks which gives him plenty of time to get ready for training camp in September. The 31-year-old has never reached the 20-point mark in his career, so fantasy owners in need of blue line scoring may want to consider other options.

Emelin scored the lone Montreal goal in Saturday's series-ending Game 6 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Emelin only appeared in two postseason games this year due to injury, failing to make much of an impact in back-to-back losses. He isn't known for his offensive production and finished with just 10 points this season-- his lowest point total since his rookie campaign. Emelin aids Montreal with his strong physical game, but his lack of offensive capabilities is a turn-off for most fantasy goers.

Emelin (lower body) will make his return to the lineup for Thursday's Game 5 against the Rangers, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hard-hitting defenseman has been skating since Sunday but didn't seem close to returning until Thursday's morning skate. Emelin skated on the third pairing with Nathan Beaulieu, while Brandon Davidson is expected to be a healthy scratch. The Habs will be happy to have Emelin in the lineup, as he is a clear upgrade over Davidson, but the Russian blueliner doesn't offer much of anything from an offensive standpoint, having recorded two goals and 10 points over 76 games this season.

Emelin (lower body) resumed skating with the team Wednesday and has not been ruled out for Thursday's Game 5 clash.
EDGE Analysis
Considering Emelin has not scored a goal in 34 straight outings, fantasy owners probably shouldn't expect an offensive explosion if he slots back into the lineup. The blueliner's biggest contribution would likely come on the penalty kill, where he averaged 2:35 of ice time during the regular season -- although the Habs' PK has been perfect without him thus far.
