Forementon sustained an apparent injury of some kind last Saturday, but he was able to finish the tournament, suggesting that he's now healthy. "He's a tall, lean kid so our strength and conditioning team have really pushed for him to add some strength and power to his game which will allow him to make even better use of his speed," chief amateur scout Trent Mann said of Formenton. "You can see that his body is starting to mature a little bit and there are glimpses of him adding a bit of a power game to his speed which will just create more opportunities for him."

Formenton was forced out of the rookie tournament Saturday upon taking a high hit from Andrew Nielsen, Scott Wheeler of The Athletic reports.

The 18-year-old rewrote history, as he became the youngest to debut with the Senators, doing so Oct. 7 against the Red Wings. He only appeared in 4:54 of ice time in that contest and was scratched in the three subsequent NHL games. OK, so Forementon needs more time to refine his game before making an impact at thehighest level, but the 2017 second-round (47th overall) pick remains an appealing dynasty option on the heels of a 34-point and plus-21 campaign with the OHL's Knights in 2016-17.

Formenton will skate on Ottawa's fourth line Sunday against Detroit, joining Nate Thompson and Alexandre Burrows.
