As expected, DeBrincat was called up from AHL Rockford on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
DeBrincat's demotion was a paper-only roster move, as the team needed to wait a day to place Marian Hossa (illness) on long-term injured reserve. With that move processed, the 19-year-old Debrincat is officially back with the team and should suit up for Opening Night against the Penguins on Thursday.

The Blackhawks assigned DeBrincat to AHL Rockford on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Per Scott Powers of The Athletic Chicago, DeBrincat's demotion is likely just a "paper transaction" that the Blackhawks had to make in order to be cap compliant, so the dimunitive winger will almost certainly be recalled by the big club ahead of Thursday's regular-season opener against Pittsburgh. The 2016 second-round pick, who racked up an astounding 332 points in 191 games over the past three seasons with the OHL's Erie Otters, could start the 2017-18 campaign in a top-six role, making him a highly intriguing asset in all fantasy formats.

DeBrincat found the back of the net Thursday in a 6-1 preseason home rout over the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
A member of the OHL's Erie Otters the past three seasons, DeBrincat demonstrated tremendous patience and anticipation upon receiving a Richard Panik pass, brushing the puck against the twine for his first exhibition tally with the team. Opportunists in the fantasy realm will want to consider snagging this Cat before he becomes a household name in the NHL. After dropping a ridiculous 65 goals and 62 assists over 63 regular-season games with his junior club last season, there's speculation that he could claim a top-six role with the Blackhawks right from the start.

DeBrincat has been skating with Patrick Kane and Nick Schmaltz on the Blackhawks' second line during training camp, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
When Chicago traded Artemi Panarin to the Blue Jackets and then signed Patrick Sharp to a one-year deal this offseason, common sense suggested Sharp would likely take Panarin's place on the Blackhawks' second line. However, Debrincat has been skating in that spot throughout Chicago's training camp, indicating the 'Hawks are hoping the 19-year-old winger will be able to step in and immediately contribute in a top-six role. It's hard to fault the organization for being optimistic, as Debrincat has posted record-setting numbers over the past three seasons with the Erie Otters of the OHL, racking up an insane 332 points (167 goals, 165 assists) in 191 games. Fantasy owners will want to keep tabs on DeBrincat heading into the 2017-18 campaign, as he has serious offensive upside, and he could establish himself as a highly desirable asset in all fantasy formats by season's end.

DeBrincat won the 2016-17 OHL Scoring Championship after posting 65 goals and 127 points in 63 games for Erie.
EDGE Analysis
DeBrincat finished the season with a plus-60 rating and 309 shots on goal. Making a mockery of the junior ranks has become commonplace for the diminutive winger. DeBrincat has now registered 167 goals and 332 points over the past three seasons for Erie. His transition to pro hockey will be one of the more fascinating stories to watching heading into next season.

DeBrincat scored his 65th goal of the season for the Erie Otters on Saturday, setting a new team record for the junior team, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeBrincat joined former NHLer Brad Boyes and teammate Dylan Strome as the only players in Otters history to record 300 points, too. He is eligible to be called up to the big club once Erie's season comes to a close, and he could very well see time in the Windy City. DeBrincat appears to have a bright future and he is worth stashing away in long-term keeper pools if you have the roster flexibility.

Tue 2/21/17 3:01 PM

After his two-goal effort on Monday, DeBrincat has now posted three-straight 50-goal seasons for OHL Erie.
EDGE Analysis
To be more specific, DeBrincat has tallied 51 goals in each of the last three seasons. That number is obviously going to rise before this year is complete. In 51 games this year, DeBrincat has 51 goals, 107 points, 229 shots on goal, and a plus-57 rating. There are legitimate concerns that DeBrincat may be too small to be a dynamic scorer at the NHL level, but there is no doubt he is one of the best junior players of his generation.

DeBrincat signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Chicago, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeBrincat has put up absurd numbers with OHL Erie, netting 17 goals and 18 assists in 14 games. The 18-year-old likely won't be ready for the NHL soon, but if Chicago sends him to the AHL and he continues his hot streak, he could be in line to hit the NHL late this season or next year.

DeBrincat racked up two goals and three assists to help lead OHL Erie to a 7-3 win over Kitchener on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
DeBrincat added a game-high nine shots on goal for good measure. After posting 102 goals and 205 points over the past two seasons, DeBrincat now has 17 goals and 35 points in his first 14 games of 2016-17. Arguably the most prolific goal-scorer in all of junior hockey, the combination of DeBrincat and 2016 Tampa Bay second-rounder Taylor Raddysh has been unstoppable this season.

DeBrincat racked up two goals and two assists in Erie's (OHL) 7-1 win over London on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Connor McDavid and Dylan Strome have moved on, but DeBrincat continues to make a mockery of the OHL. He has eight goals, 15 points, and a plus-12 rating in just six games thus far this season. There are legitimate concerns that DeBrincat may be too small to be an impact offensive player at the NHL level, but he is as talented a pure goal scorer as there is in junior hockey.
