Ness was demoted to AHL Tucson on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Ness was a healthy scratch in four of the Yotes' previous five contests, so his move to the minors shouldn't come as a surprise. The defender will log significantly more ice time with the Roadrunners, which will certainly help his long-term development. With the available roster spot, the team promoted Kyle Capobianco.

Arizona waived Ness on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ness has been a healthy scratch for 17 of 35 games since being promoted Oct. 19, so this move doesn't come as a huge surprise. However, assuming he goes unclaimed, the 29-year-old American will remain with the big club, so he won't be heading to the minors just yet.

Ness served as a healthy scratch against the Oilers on Sunday, his seventh time in the press box since being called up Oct. 19.
EDGE Analysis
Considering Ness hasn't scored an NHL goal since the 2013-14 season when he was with the Islanders, fantasy owners probably shouldn't be banking on him for offensive contributions. To be fair, the 29-year-old has only appeared in 30 NHL contests since leaving the Islanders organization, but could set a new career high in games played this year.

Ness has been recalled from AHL Tucson, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ness is expected to take the roster spot of Jordan Oesterle (concussion), but it remains to be seen whether he actually skates in Saturday's game against the Senators, with six other healthy defensemen still available for Arizona.

Ness signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Coyotes on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ness had been deployed sparingly with the Capitals, with the left-shot defenseman registering only 18 games over a three-year span. Arizona generally lacks experience on the bottom defensive pairings, meaning Ness should have an easier time finding top-level work than he did in Washington. However, the two-way nature of his contract makes it likely that he'll spend some time in the minors. This is a player to avoid in fantasy until Ness proves he can handle a permanent NHL gig.

Ness was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ness will head down to the minors, while fellow blueliner Jonas Siegenthaler remains with the club for it's upcoming four-game road trip. In 12 minor-league contests this season, the 28-year-old Ness has notched four helpers, four PIM and a minus-1 rating. If the Caps pick up another injury on the blue line, Ness is a near lock to be the one brought back up to help provide some extra depth.

Ness was recalled from AHL Hershey on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Ness and Jonas Siegenthaler were called up to the parent in the wake of a lower-body injury to veteran Brooks Orpik. The Capitals have a home game scheduled against the visiting Blue Jackets on Friday, so there's a chance that Ness -- who has four assists in 12 games with the AHL's Bears -- will be inserted into the lineup for his season debut.

Ness was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Sunday, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ness didn't play a game in this NHL stint, as he was used in a reserve role while Brooks Orpik tended to a lower-body injury. It appears Orpik is nearing a return, so Ness was sent back down.

The Capitals recalled Ness from AHL Hershey on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Brooks Orpik (lower body) won't be available for Thursday's game against Montreal, so Ness will fill in as the Capitals' seventh defensemen against the Canadiens. The 28-year-old blueliner has notched four assists in 11 AHL appearances this season.

Ness was waived by the Capitals on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old has only once played double-digit games in an NHL season, appearing in 20 contests back in 2013-14 as a member of the Islanders. Ness has shown promise in glimpses but has yet to perform adequately on a consistent basis and as such, finds himself bound for minor-league duty to begin the 2018-19 season.
