Dell stopped all nine shots he faced in relief of Martin Jones Saturday against the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has struggled in his two starts this season, so we might be seeing more of Dell in the near-future. The 28-year-old made his NHL debut last season, impressing with a .931 save percentage in 20 appearances. Jones' track record and ability to string together victories speaks for itself, but Dell is certainly a capable backup. When the Sharks do decide to give the undersized goalie the nod, he's definitely worthy of a spot start.

Dell stopped all 24 shots in Tuesday's 5-0 preseason victory against Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
After posting a 2.00 GAA and a .931 save percentage in the 2016-17 season, Dell carried over his strong play into the preseason. Dell was able to eliminate any chance Anaheim generated, including shutting down four power plays. Although Troy Grosenick figures to get some preseason action, the backup goaltender job behind Martin Jones appears to be Dell's to lose.

Dell allowed one goal and made 20 saves in a 3-1 victory against the Flames on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Sharks yielded a goal late in the second period that cut their lead in half, but San Jose held on in the third. Dell finished his first NHL regular season with stellar numbers - 11 victories, .931 save percentage and 2.00 GAA in 20 appearances. He will likely see even more work next season now that he's proven himself capable at the NHL level.

Dell will be between the pipes Saturday against the Flames, Curtis Pashelka of the Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old netminder has posted a 10-6-1 record this season while recording a .930 save percentage coupled with a 2.06 GAA -- not bad for your rookie NHL season. Martin Jones has played a substantial majority of this season's games; nevertheless, Dell definitely has shown he can be a long-term fantasy threat. Still, with 28 different starting goalies Saturday, it'd probably be a better bet to choose a goalie with a larger sample size.

Dell stopped all 12 shots he faced in relief of a struggling Martin Jones in Friday's 5-2 road loss to the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Dell may have quieted some naysayers after his awful performance against the Stars last week, when he surrendered six goals on 29 shots on the road. After all, that's been an outlier to an otherwise stellar campaign for the backup tender. Counting Friday's flawless outing, Dell has computed a 10-6-1 record, 2.06 GAA and .930 save percentage with a shutout. Generally speaking, coaches tend to ride their starting goalie until the wheels fall off in the playoffs, but Dell's strong campaign coupled with Jones' late-season struggles should at least give bench boss Peter DeBoer something to think about ahead of hockey's most important time of year.

Dell yielded six goals on 29 shots in Friday's 6-1 loss against the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
It was actually a rare poor showing for Dell who had allowed a total of 11 goals over his past seven starts. Dell continues to be a serviceable No. 2 netminder in seasonal pools allowing daily moves. He is also a solid DFS option going forward, although he obviously did no one any favors in this outing.

Dell will get the starting nod against the Stars on Friday, Curtis Pashelka of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dell has basically split starts with Martin Jones for all of March, a clear indication that the Sharks are attempting to keep their No. 1 fresh for the postseason. The 27-year-old Dell's stellar performance has certainly played a big role in that decision, as he has posted a 10-5-1 record for the year along with a .936 save percentage. The netminder will square off with Dallas who have performed significantly better at home -- 19-12-6 at the American Airlines Center.

Dell allowed one goal on 20 shots in a 1-0 loss to the Stars on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The Stars didn't exactly pepper the rookie in this one, but the Sharks skaters in front of him weren't able to solve Kari Lehtonen. Dell has now lost two games in a row after rattling off three straight wins, but remains an above-average spot-start option behind workhorse Martin Jones based on his sparkling ratios (.936 save percentage, 1.85 GAA).

Dell will tend twine in Monday's tilt in Dallas, Sean Shapiro of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The backup has been more than serviceable this season, notching a .936 save percentage and 1.90 GAA in 16 appearances. The Stars are middle-of-the-road offensively, ranking 14th in the league with 2.75 goals per game, so it it seems likely that Dell will continue to stymie opposing offenses.

Dell allowed three goals on 35 shots in a 4-1 loss to St. Louis on Thursday. The fourth was an empty-netter.
EDGE Analysis
And so ends Dell's modest four-game winning streak, dropping him to 10-4-1 on the season. He's been one of the very best backups in the league in his rookie season, posting a stingy 1.90 GAA to go with an equally impressive .936 save percentage. The 27-year-old doesn't play much behind workhorse Martin Jones, but he's a fantastic spot-start option when he gets the call, and a great insurance policy for the Sharks if Jones should falter.
