Dell's 29 saves weren't enough in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blues.
EDGE Analysis
Dell did enough to earn his team a point in a hostile road environment, so it's hard to fault him too much. Martin Jones' backup has just one win since Feb. 10, but this was only Dell's fourth appearance since that date. With a 2.67 GAA and .913 save percentage in 28 appearances (22 starts) for the season, Dell remains one of the league's most trustworthy backups.

Dell will start in goal on the road against the Blues on Tuesday, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
San Jose's primary backup has 15 wins in 27 games to complement relatively neat peripherals, including a 2.66 GAA and .913 save percentage. Dell will have his work cut out for him against a Blues team that has won five straight games to make a strong bid for a playoff spot out of the shared Western Conference. As for Dell and his fellow Sharks, they're a virtual lock to extend their season.

Dell stopped 28 of 31 shots in Saturday's win over Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
Dell was making his first start in almost a month and turned in a great performance to help San Jose pick up two important points. The backup netminder has been solid when called upon this season, posting a 15-5-3 record with a .913 save percentage. He's had a few tough outings, but Dell remains a quality fantasy play whenever starter Martin Jones gets the night off.

Dell will start in goal Saturday evening against host Vancouver, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Sharks went with Martin Jones against the Flames for the first half of the back-to-back set Friday, and the traditional starter emerged victorious to extend his winning streak to three games. Still, Dell is well rested, and his track record against Vancouver (3-0-0, 1.65 GAA and .949 save percentage) makes him the logical choice for a spot start. He hasn't played since stopping all 14 shots against the Blue Jackets in a relief outing two weeks ago, but Dell has gone 25-11-0 with impressive ratios (2.36 GAA and .921 save mark) in 37 career starts and 46 total showings.

Dell stopped all 14 shots he faced in relief of Martin Jones in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
Dell's first appearance since signing a two-year, $3.8 million contract extension was a great one. The 28-year-old has had some rough outings recently, but he's locked into the backup role behind Martin Jones and is sporting a .914 save percentage. The 28-year-old makes for a quality fantasy play whenever Jones is given the night off.

Dell signed a two-year contract extension Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Dell's deal is worth a total of $3.8 million, according to Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area, and cements his status as Martin Jones' backup for at least the near future. Now in his second season with San Jose, the 28-year-old Dell has seen action in 25 games while posting a 14-5-3 record with a 2.71 GAA and .912 save percentage in 2017-18. Dell's numbers are down from a season ago -- 2.00 GAA and .931 save percentage -- but he's been given more responsibility in the current campaign, having featured in just 20 games in all of 2016-17.

Dell allowed seven goals on 46 shots during Thursday's 7-1 loss to Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
Nashville pulled to 21-7-3 at home with Thursday's win, so this definitely wasn't a strong spot for Dell to be successful in. Still, this checks out as a disappointing showing, and the San Jose backup now owns an .855 save percentage and 4.62 GAA through his past five starts. At this stage of the game, it's probably best to only utilize Dell in favorable matchups.

Dell will start in goal Thursday night against host Nashville, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Predators rank no worse than 15th in any of the key offensive categories, including goals per game (3.05) and power-play percentage (22.4 percent), but Sharks coach Peter DeBoer seems to have a ton of confidence in the backup tender. Dell has maintained a career record of 25-10-4 to complement robust peripherals, highlighted by a 2.28 GAA and .923 save percentage. The sample size is rather small, though, as he's only made 35 starts and 43 appearances since claiming a victory of the Islanders for his NHL debut in October of 2016.

Dell stopped 27 of 31 shots in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Dell has now earned consecutive victories after he was burned for 11 goals in his previous two starts. The 28-year-old is sporting an impressive 14-4-3 record with a .917 save percentage in 24 appearances this season. Martin Jones is the starter in San Jose, but Dell is continuing to show that he's one of the best backup netminders around.

Dell will see shots from the Oilers at home Saturday night, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonton has dropped two straight decisions and former Sharks coach Todd McLellan saw two key role players -- forward Drake Caggiula and blueliner Andrej Sekera -- sustain facial injuries upon getting hit by the puck in separate fluke occurrences Friday night against the Ducks, leaving both players questionable. Dell snapped out of a cold spell in Carolina last Sunday, as he set aside 29 of 30 shots for his 13th win of the season. Now, his focus will be countering an Oilers attack that ranks seventh in the league in high-danger Corsi For percentage with a value of 53.36 -- in other words, this Western Conference foe knows a thing or two about how to pick its spots in the offensive zone.
