Mixon missed the entirety of the 2025 season recovering from some sort of foot injury that neither the team nor player has discussed much through the media. It's unclear what kind of timeline Mixon is looking at in his recovery and return to the field. The move saves the Texans $8 million in cap space. Mixon will turn 30 years old in July and has lacked big-play ability in recent years. The two-time Pro Bowl selection has 7,428 career rushing yards and 60 touchdowns. His days of being an every-down back are likely over.

The Commanders re-signed Burks to a one-year contract worth up to $4 million Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

After some injury-plagued seasons in Tennessee, Burks signed with Washington back in October and appeared in eight regular-season games for the Commanders last season. Gary has two years remaining on a four-year, $96 million extension and carries a massive $28 million cap number for the 2026 season. Gary has posted back-to-back 7.5-sack seasons since signing the extension.

Decker was released by the Lions on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Decker, a 2016 first-round pick from Ohio State, spent the first 10 years of his NFL career with the Lions. However, it now appears the team has decided to move in another direction. The veteran offensive lineman was due $18.2 million in 2026, and after conversations about a contract restructure broke down, he requested his release. Decker has started all 140 regular-season games he's appeared in, including 14 in each of the last two seasons. Even at 32 years of age, he's expected to be a coveted option for teams in need of offensive tackle help ahead of next season.
