The Steelers placed Banner (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction list.
EDGE Analysis
Banner is expected to undergo season-ending knee surgery after he suffered a torn ACL in Monday's win over the Giants. This is a tough blow for the Steelers to lose their starting right tackle, but in Banner's stead, look for either Matt Feiler or Chukwuma Okorafor to take over as the starter going forward.

Banner received an initial diagnosis of a torn ACL after he exited Monday's 26-16 win over the Giants with a knee injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Banner will undergo an MRI to confirm the injury, but the 26-year-old is more than likely headed for season-ending surgery. If that's the case, Chukwuma Okorafor could take over as the Steelers' new starting right tackle, or Pittsburgh could move left guard Matt Feiler to the position.

Banner suited up in 14 games during the 2019 season and made his first start in Week 12's game against Cincinnati. The 26-year-old could compete for the starting right tackle job this year if the team elects to move Matt Feiler to left guard to replace recent retiree Ramon Foster.
