Jackson (pectoral) is expected to be full-go for spring workouts, Cincinnati.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jackson lost his rookie season to a pectoral tear suffered in practice last August but appears to have recovered nicely. In fact, the Bengals had plans to activate the cornerback from injured reserve before RB Giovani Bernard (knee - ACL) went down in November, prompting the team to change course and use its sole 'Designated for Return' tag on RB Cedric Peerman instead. Since Jackson had come this close to playing, it appears he could already be fully healthy. Thus, it comes as little surprise that he's expected back for spring workouts in April. With No. 1 CB Dre Kirkpatrick an unrestricted free agent and starting complement Adam Jones potentially facing legal discipline, those workouts could be the starting point for Jackson's quest to claim a first-string role in 2017.

The Bengals opted to designate Cedric Peerman on IR-to-return over Jackson (pectoral injury).
EDGE Analysis
Jackson was the Bengals' first-round pick this year but won't play a snap this season. He was considered likely to be able to return before the end of the season, but there's more of an urgent need for Peerman to return because of Gio Bernard's injury.

Jackson (torn pectoral) was placed on IR Sunday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie had generated his fair share of praise throughout the preseason and was expected to battle for a starting spot in the Bengals' secondary.

Jackson suffered a torn pectoral, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jackson continued the trend of Cincinnati using first-round selections on cornerbacks, joining a roster that already featured fellow first-rounders Dre Kirkpatrick (2012) and Darqueze Dennard (2014), in addition to locked-in starter Adam Jones. Previously expected to push Kirkpatrick for a starting job, Jackson may now spend his first professional season on injured reserve. Given how slowly the Bengals have brought their other cornerbacks along, this may not actually have much of an impact on Jackson's development track.

Jackson is expected to compete with Dre Kirkpatrick for one of the Bengals' starting cornerback positions early on this season, NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jackson was selected in the first round of this year's draft and excelled playing on the outside during his time at Houston. With great length and speed, Jackson is an immediate threat to Kirkpatrick's job, as Pro-Bowler Adam Jones occupies Cincinnati's other starting role and Darqueze Dennard is best at an inside position. Furthermore, with defensive coordinator Paul Guenther declaring Jackson will play early on, it seems the rookie's fantasy stock could rise as the regular season approaches.

The Bengals selected Jackson in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, 24th overall.
EDGE Analysis
Many considered Jackson the draft's best corner, even ahead of players like Eli Apple (10th overall) and Vernon Hargreaves (11th overall), so this should go down as a fine pick for the Bengals this far back. Cincinnati was quietly thin and a bit old at cornerback prior to this pick, but this selection should go a long way toward assuring a solid pass defense in Cincinnati.
