Shipley (ribs) isn't practicing Wednesday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shipley took three carries for 26 yards in the first half of last Thursday's win over Dallas, but he was injured on a kickoff late in the second quarter and didn't play after halftime. The Eagles then traded for RB Tank Bigsby on Monday, giving up fifth- and sixth-round picks in 2026, which is seemingly enough compensation to put Shipley on the hot seat even if he returns from his injury soon (which is far from guaranteed). AJ Dillon filled in as the No. 2 RB after halftime last Thursday, taking three carries for 10 yards while occasionally spelling Saquon Barkley, who finished the night with a 79 percent snap share and 22 touches.

Shipley is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Cowboys due to a rib injury.
EDGE Analysis
Shipley got hit hard on a kick return late in the first half and wasn't spotted with the team coming out to begin the third quarter. AJ Dillon rotated in behind Saquon Barkley and will serve as the backup running back if Shipley is unable to return.

Shipley started Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals, taking seven carries for 48 yards and one catch for four yards.
EDGE Analysis
All eight touches came on the first two drives, including a 38-yard carry, before AJ Dillon took over for the third series and played the rest of the first half. Dillon also had a solid night, with five carries for 27 yards and three catches for 27 yards, but both the rotation order and Shipley's strong performance suggest Shipley is on track for the No. 2 RB role in Philadelphia -- a spot that could equate to immense fantasy value in the event of a Saquon Barkley injury.

Shipley and AJ Dillon are the top candidates for backup roles in Philadelphia's backfield, according to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
The stylistic difference is drastic, with Dillon a 247-pound bruiser who has 597 career carries in the regular season. Shipley, a fourth-round pick last year, is listed at 209 pounds, and he took just 30 carries in 16 games during his initial NFL regular season. The report notes that Shipley should have a roster spot and a role on special teams even if Dillon earns the No. 2 RB role this summer. The two might ultimately be part of a committee in the event of a Saquon Barkley injury.

Shipley rushed 30 times for 82 yards (2.7 YPC) across 16 regular-season appearances with the Eagles in 2024. He also secured all four of his targets for 35 yards and compiled 173 yards as a kick returner.
EDGE Analysis
Shipley, a 2024 fourth-round pick, handled a depth role behind Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gainwell out of the backfield for Philadelphia, ultimately logging an unremarkable rookie campaign. He did, however, go off for 77 yards and a score, the first of his career, on just four carries versus Washington in the NFC Championship Game. With Gainwell set to become an unrestricted free agent, Shipley could climb the depth chart behind Barkley in Year 2.

Shipley (ankle) was a full participant in Friday's practice. He does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's NFC wild-card round matchup against the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Shipley began the week of practice as a limited participant, but he's managed to gain a clean bill of health in advance of Sunday's home wild-card game. The rookie fourth-round pick is set to handle his usual No. 3 role out of the backfield for Philadelphia behind Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gainwell.

Shipley (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Shipley split backfield duties with Kenneth Gainwell in Week 18 against the Giants due to Saquon Barkley sitting out for rest purposes, and Shipley finished the game with 10 carries for 32 yards and four catches on as many targets for 35 yards. It appears Shipley may have injured his ankle in the process, though he should be able to play in Sunday's NFC wild-card game against the Packers unless he suffers a setback in practice this week.

Shipley carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards and caught all four of his targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie RB split the backfield workload with Kenneth Gainwell while Saquon Barkley was rested ahead of the playoffs, and it was Shipley who was the more productive of the duo. The 2024 fourth-round pick hadn't even seen a target through the first 17 weeks of the season, but his usage in the passing game Sunday suggests a future role for him in the offense even if Barkley continues to dominate touches. Shipley will likely return to being predominantly a special-teams asset in the postseason, however, as the Eagles get ready to host the Packers next weekend in the wild-card round.

Shipley (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Though he was listed as questionable heading into the weekend, Shipley put in full practices Thursday and Friday and was cleared by an independent neurologist at some point thereafter, allowing him to exit the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. With workhorse back Saquon Barkley (rest) sitting out the regular-season finale, Shipley should be primed for his heftiest snap count of the season, after taking the field for no more than 11 plays in any of his previous 15 games. Kenneth Gainwell may get the start for the Eagles, but he likely won't take on a Barkley-level workload as the team looks to preserve his health heading into the postseason. As the only other active running back, Shipley could thus be in store for plenty of volume on the ground and as a pass catcher, but he could struggle to produce while the Eagles are resting three of their starting linemen (offensive tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, center Landon Dickerson).

Shipley (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Shipley practiced without limitations Friday, but he'll need to be cleared by an independent neurologist to exit the concussion protocol and suit up. He was concussed Week 16 against the Commanders and subsequently sat out against the Cowboys in Week 17. The rookie fourth-round draft pick has only 20 carries all season, but Shipley and Kenneth Gainwell could both be in store for significant roles in the regular-season finale, as Saquon Barkley's listed as doubtful due to rest purposes.
