Jackson racked up 31 tackles in 16 games for the Falcons in 2015.
EDGE Analysis
This is the second consecutive season that Jackson has been sackless. He was never a dominant pass rusher with the Chiefs, but he did have seven combined sacks in his final two years in Kansas City. He still has three years left on his contract, but the Falcons will likely need to see a little more out of Jackson if he wants to stay on the roster for three more years.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DE Tyson Jackson is drawing an "impressive amount of interest," with the Dolphins, Browns and Falcons among his potential suitors. Per Rapsheet, the Chiefs also remain in play. The 2009 first-rounder had a career year under Andy Reid and DC Bob Sutton last season, logging 34 tackles and four sacks across 509 snaps while faring well against the run.

Free agent LE Tyson Jackson says he "just started negotiations" with the Chiefs. Jackson played both end spots last season for the Chiefs and turned his career around under new coach Andy Reid and DC Bob Sutton. He recorded 34 tackles and a career-high four sacks while grading out as a top-ten 3-4 end against the run. The former No. 3 overall pick should have plenty of suitors in free agency.

New Chiefs coach Andy Reid has been "very impressed" with RE Tyson Jackson. "I've been impressed since we've been together here," Reid said of Jackson, who took a $10 million pay-cut to $4.2 million this offseason. "Not many guys are going to outwork him on the field. Pass rush was not his forte, but he's working like crazy to get better. As a coach, that's all you can ask for. He's a big man who can move a little bit." Jackson is coming off the best six-game stretch of his thus far disappointing career, but shouldn't be better than replacement-level this season.

Chiefs LE Tyson Jackson's contract restructure includes a $10M slash in base salary. Jackson didn't get any money converted into bonuses or years added on. He just accepted the Chiefs' request to lower his base salary from $14.72M to $4.2M. It's a sign that he expected to find a very soft market if Kansas City cut him.

Chiefs LE Tyson Jackson has restructured his contract. One of former GM Scott Pioli's biggest misses was due a laughable $14.72 million, and set to count $17.5 million against the cap. It's likely at least $10 million has been lopped off his salary, and probably more. The No. 3 pick of the 2009 draft, Jackson has just five sacks across 59 career games.

Chiefs GM John Dorsey says he's been in contact with LE Tyson Jackson's "representatives" about restructuring his contract. "Again, we're in communication with his representatives and we're just talking through some things," said Dorsey. Jackson is due a whopping $14.72 million salary in the final year of his deal, in addition to a $250,000 workout bonus. He's not going to see that kind of money. Jackson very well could be released.

The Chiefs are expected to release LE Tyson Jackson this offseason. The third overall pick in the 2009 draft, Jackson has provided next to no pass-rush impact through four seasons while starting on consistently bad Kansas City run defenses. He's sitting on five career sacks. Jackson's ultimate undoing will be a $14.72 million base salary and $250K offseason roster bonus.
