Davison accounted for 55 total tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery across 16 appearances for Atlanta in 2019.
EDGE Analysis
The former Saint assimilated well to his new squad, obliterating his previous career high in tackles by 24, tying his personal best in stuffs behind the line of scrimmage, and starting 12-plus games for a fourth straight year. Davison registered just two starts between Weeks 1 and 6, but closed out the year with 10 straight starts during his debut campaign with the Falcons. After fielding an average of 35.5 defensive snaps per game for Atlanta in 2019, he now becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Davison tallied a pass deflection and collected four combined tackles, including one sack during Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Seahawks.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old Davison helped the Falcons finally generate some pressure, as Atlanta's defense logged two sacks against Seattle after going four straight games without registering a single one. Besides from the sack, Davison has provided IDP value through other avenues as well, collecting a tackle for loss in two consecutive games and picking up four-plus tackles in four of his past five outings. He and the reeling Falcons defense can now catch a collective breath during the Week 9 bye, before returning to the field Nov. 10 to take on a Saints offensive attack that has amassed 31 or more points over three of its past four appearances.

Davison collected a team-high eight tackles, including one tackle for loss during Sunday's 28-12 loss to the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Davison swallowed up Vikings ball carriers by the bundle on Sunday, but unfortunately the rest of the front seven had a largely lackluster performance, with Minnesota establishing a 4.5 yards per carry average and reaching the end zone three times on the ground. The 25-year-old Davison certainly did what he could to keep the Falcons defense from folding Sunday, with all of his eight tackles resulting in a net gain of three or fewer yards for the Minnesota offense. He has a chance to put up profitable IDP numbers in Week 2, opposing an Eagles offense that ran the ball 31 times against Washington in its first outing of the regular season.

Coach Dan Quinn emphasized Thursday that Davison will play a key role in helping Atlanta better defend the run in 2019, William McFadden of the Falcons' official sitereports. "We were really impressed, through free agency, about his ability to play the run," Quinn said. "We thought if we could add him into that mix of guys it would be really impactful for us."
EDGE Analysis
Davison is set to fit into a key rotational role for the Falcons' defensive line in 2019, with an outside shot at earning starter reps if he is capable of outshining Jack Crawford and Deadrin Senat throughout training camp and the preseason. Crawford and Senat each posted higher performance grades than Davison last season -- 52nd and 55th-ranked defensive tackles according to Pro Football Focus, compared to Davison's No. 83 ranking. Despite not necessarily serving as a talent upgrade, Davison adds valuable veteran presence for a defense that finished 25th against the run in 2018.

Davison will visit with the Falcons this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
A 2015 fifth-round pick, Davison started 48 of 61 games in New Orleans the past four years, recording 95 tackles and 3.5 sacks while playing at least 421 defensive snaps each season. He doesn't offer much as a pass rusher, but his solid work against the run makes him one of the more valuable players available at this stage of free agency.

Davison (foot) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Davison sat out two straight regular season games due to a foot injury, but has finally managed to return to practice. The starting defensive end seems on track to suit up against the Giants on Sunday, so Taylor Stallworth and David Onyemata should return to serving depth roles.

EDGE Analysis
Davison has only played in Week 1 when he made four tackles (one solo) during 52 defensive snaps against the Buccaneers. With Davison's absence, Taylor Stallworth and David Onyemata should both see an uptick in snaps for the second straight week.
