Burton is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Andrew Walker of Colts.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It'll be an interesting offseason in Indianapolis, where Marcus Brady was promoted from QBs coach to offensive coordinator after the Eagles hired Nick Sirianni. With QB Philip Rivers retiring and WR T.Y. Hilton headed for free agency, the Colts could aim for a youth movement on the offensive side of the ball. Burton had three receiving touchdowns and two rushing TDs in 2020, but he averaged only 2.2 catches for 19.2 yards per game, working in a timeshare with Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox. Both Burton and Alie-Cox are scheduled for free agency (the latter is a RFA), while the Colts can clear up more than $4 million in cap space if Doyle is released.

Burton caught three of four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Burton was back in the No. 2 tight end role in Week 16, as he played 49 percent of the team's snaps on offense, second to position mate Jack Doyle (55 percent). Nevertheless, the 29-year-old is stuck in a cold spell with just five receptions for 37 yards over the last four contests. He'll look to get back on track in the Week 17 matchup against the Jaguars.

Burton caught one of two targets for eight yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Burton finished third among Colts' tight ends with just 19 snaps on offense (35 percent). The position group hasn't had much success lately, however, as Burton, Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox have all finished with fewer than 50 receiving yards in four straight games.

Burton (knee) was a full participant during Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Burton was absent from Wednesday's session with the knee issue, but as evidenced by this news, he appears on track for Sunday's game against Houston. Although the veteran played 25 of 61 offensive snaps in last week's win over Las Vegas, it was a bit surprising to see Burton go without a target in the contest. Burton will continue to be a hit-or-miss option at tight end in fantasy in his No. 2 role behind Jack Doyle for Week 15.

Burton (knee) didn't practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Though Burton logged 25 of a possible 61 offensive snaps in this past Sunday's 44-27 win over the Raiders, he wasn't targeted in the contest. Following two straight fantasy duds, Burton -- who scored TDs in both Week 11 and Week 12 -- profiles as a hit-or-miss option Sunday against the Texans, that is if he's available.

Burton fielded 25 offensive snaps without receiving a target during Sunday's 44-27 win against Las Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Burton's nine-game catch streak was snapped during Indianapolis' Week 14 win, and he's now been held without a touchdown in back-to-back contests after reaching the end zone Weeks 11 and 12. The Florida product remains dependent on the TD to deliver fantasy value, as he has just one outing of more than four receptions or 45 yards over his 10 appearances in 2020. During Week 15, he will face a Texans defense that is tied for 11th best in the NFL with five receiving TDs surrendered to opposing tight ends.

Burton had an 11-yard reception on three targets in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Burton failed to extend his touchdown streak to three games. He played just 25 snaps on offense, falling behind both Mo Alie-Cox (44) and Jack Doyle (38). Working in Burton's favor is nine red-zone targets over eight games, while Doyle and Alie-Cox have combined for seven in that stretch. Even with fewer snaps on a weekly basis, Burton appears to have more fantasy upside by virtue of his high-value targets.

Burton recorded three receptions on six targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Burton continued to out-produce both Jack Doyle and Mo Alie-Cox and was also the Colts' third-most targeted pass-catcher. His production came early on when he delivered a 12-yard reception on the team's first drive to move into the red zone. Three plays later, he hauled in a 12-yard touchdown for his fifth score of the campaign. Philip Rivers continues to spread targets to a wide array of pass-catchers, leaving Burton's volume unreliable on a weekly basis.

Burton had three receptions for 25 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown, on five targets in Sunday's win over Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
While Burton scored a touchdown, he got less playing time among the team's three tight ends. Burton played on 24 of the offense's 84 snaps while Jack Doyle played on 45 snaps and Mo Alie-Cox played on 43 snaps. However, Burton did have more targets than the other two (Doyle had a TD catch on two targets, and Alie-Cox had two targets). Burton has four touchdowns as a red-zone threat, but it's hard to depend on any tight end's production with all three active in the passing game.

Burton had three receptions for 14 yards on three targets in Thursday's win over Tennessee.
EDGE Analysis
Burton was thought to have a larger role with Jack Doyle out with a concussion, but he played on 37 of the offense's 70 snaps, which has been around the rate he's played each game. Despite starting at TE, he played less snaps and went out on fewer routes than Mo Alie-Cox. Burton did have a red-zone target, however. Indy's usage of the tight ends in the passing game has fluctuated each game, making Burton an unpredictable fantasy option despite scoring three touchdowns in six games.
