Frederick (neck) plans to visit several additional specialists in the coming days, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The early prognosis was good news for the Frederick and the Cowboys but both parties are eager to confirm the positive findings with other medical professionals. What does this mean moving forward? Well, for the most part it suggests we won't know of a reliable timetable for Frederick's return until after the meetings. The team is hopeful that their big bruiser will be ready for Week 1, but it's rather murky at the moment.

Frederick -- who has been sidelined recently by a neck issue stemming from numerous stingers -- just requires some rest to recover, the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frederick is expected to miss practice Thursday and likely Saturday's preseason contest as well, but it doesn't sound as though the issue should cost him too much time overall. When healthy, he should slot back in as the Cowboys' starting center.

Frederick has restructured his contract, saving the Cowboys roughly $7 million in cap space, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frederick will shift most of his $10 million base salary for the season into a signing bonus, which frees up space for the Cowboys to sign linebacker Joe Thomas and receiver Deonte Thompson.

Frederick was named to his fourth Pro Bowl team as a reserve Tuesday, The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The center continues to anchor one of the elite blocking units in the league, and his consistency has helped the Cowboys work in a new starting left guard in Jonathan Cooper without losing too much efficiency. Frederick joins offensive line-mates Zack Martin and Tyron Smith on this year's Pro Bowl squad.

Frederick has agreed to restructured contract with the Cowboys, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frederick and fellow lineman Tyron Smith's restructured deals will reportedly open over $17 million worth of cap space for the Cowboys heading into the new league year. Named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons, Frederick signed a six-year, $56.4 million extension with Dallas last August.

The Cowboys and Frederick reached an agreement on a six-year, $56.4 millions extension Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coming in the first half of the Cowboys' exhibition opener, the announcement makes Frederick the highest-paid center in the NFL. A first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, he's earned Pro Bowl nods the past two seasons. With Frederick and tackle Tyron Smith locked up to long-term deals, the Cowboys will look to reup Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin next offseason.

Frederick had his fifth-year option exercised by the Cowboys, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move keeps Frederick in a Cowboy uniform through 2017. He was Dallas' highly scrutinized first-round selection in 2013, though has proved to be more than worthy of his draft pedigree. The Wisconsin product has been selected to two Pro Bowls in three years, is yet to miss a single contest, and is a key cog in Dallas' premier offensive line, while shaping up to be one of the best centers in the league. In 2014, Dallas signed bookend tackle Tyron Smith to an eight-year extension one year after picking up his fifth-year option. Look for Jerry Jones and company to proceed in a similar fashion with Frederick.

Second-year C Travis Frederick will be given more pre-snap responsibilities this season. The Cowboys relied on Tony Romo to make protection calls last season, but Frederick hopes to take on that responsibility this year. That should allow Romo to focus more on the opposing coverage pre-snap. The Cowboys' offensive line has a shot to be one of the best this season.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett confirmed that first-round pick Travis Frederick will open training camp at center. Frederick could still be moved to guard, but will stay at center for now after working there with the first-team offense during OTAs. The Cowboys could ultimately be forced to demote middling RG Mackenzy Bernadeau from the starting lineup, who missed all of minicamp due to offseason shoulder surgery.
