Torrey Smith caught two passes for 74 yards in the Ravens' Week 12 win over the Jets. Smith beat Antonio Cromartie on a 60-yard bomb, but also had a bad drop for a would-be big gain on third down in the second half. Fantasy owners should be more excited to start Smith in Week 13 against the Steelers, where he'll likely do battle for most of the game with Ike Taylor. As Josh Gordon showed Sunday, Taylor is running purely on fumes at this stage of his career.

As of Sunday morning, the forecast for Ravens-Bears is calling for 27MPH winds and an increasing likelihood of rain as the game progresses. Weather.com's hourly projections actually don't foresee serious precipitation until about two hours into the game. Wind is what affects passing games more than rain, however, and these are strong winds coming off of Lake Michigan with gusts perhaps reaching 60MPH. We wouldn't consider it a concern for Chicago's quick-hitting passing game as much as for the Ravens, who play vertical passing offense. Torrey Smith has a terrific matchup on paper, but we wouldn't blame anyone for downgrading him from fantasy WR1/2 to WR2/3.

Torrey Smith caught five passes for 46 yards and one touchdown in Week 10 against the Bengals. Smith led the team with his 14 targets, but Joe Flacco was off for much of the afternoon in a game where the wind was whipping a bit. It was nice to see Smith visit the end zone for just the second time this season, however. The score came from seven yards out on a simple route over the middle. The touchdowns are going to come for Smith. He and the Ravens travel to Chicago next week.

Torrey Smith caught five passes for 78 yards in Week 9 versus the Browns. Smith was engulfed by Joe Haden for much of the afternoon. He caught just one pass in the first half. Smith had another grab on the final drive against prevent defense. It didn't feel like he even had as successful a day as the stat line would suggest. The Ravens struggled much of the afternoon on offense. After eight games, Smith is on pace for a career-best 72-1,414-2 season. We feel safe saying that Smith will visit the end zone more than two times. The Bengals are up next for the Ravens. It'll be the first of two meetings between the two division rivals.

Torrey Smith caught three passes for 61 yards in Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Steelers. Smith was bottled up all day by Ike Taylor, causing Joe Flacco to look elsewhere far too often. He saw just six targets even though Flacco attempted 34 passes. Smith did make one of his trademark "wow" plays as he went up and over two defenders along the sideline to come down with a 41-yard grab. Smith will take averages of 4.4 catches for 89.8 yards and one touchdown in to the Week 8 bye. He remains a strong WR2.

Joe Flacco said the Packers' "cloud coverage" was a reason Torrey Smith managed just one catch for 12 yards Sunday. Green Bay used Sam Shields on Smith and then kept safeties Morgan Burnett and M.D. Jennings wide instead of dropping them down. It worked, as Torrey only saw four targets. The Ravens are more than capable of making adjustments and Smith has been destroying double-teams all season. He'll be a buy-low candidate ahead of the Week 7 game at Pittsburgh.

Torrey Smith was held to one catch for 12 yards in Baltimore's Week 6 loss to the Packers. Smith was targeted just four times in his first dud of the season. Smith would have had an eight-yard touchdown in the second quarter, but Packers CB Sam Shields committed defensive holding. Smith also failed to corral another catchable ball. It could go down as his first official drop of the season. Smith did make an impact beyond the box score, however, opening up deep routes for Tandon Doss and Jacoby Jones. We expect him to bounce back in Week 7 against the Steelers.

Through five games, Torrey Smith ranks in the top three in the NFL in receiving yards, yards per catch, receptions of 25-plus yards, and yards after catch. Also now beating double coverage, Smith has developed into a legitimate fantasy WR1 and top-15 NFL receiver. "Sometime last year, he became that guy that caught really everything you threw to him," said Joe Flacco. "And I think he's becoming more and more of that guy." Smith has just three drops over his last 17 regular season games. He hasn't dropped a pass in any of the last seven.
